Usually.
It depends on your genetics, guy.
Most guys peak at 28-ish. But, you are good to
build even into your 60's. Lifting is a
whole-life thing. If you keep doing it, you will
be healthier, stronger, and more mentally active.
For now, you can still go for good size, though.
35- psh -that is young. I mean, it isn't like
competion for really big guys, but at 35 you
should have no problems or worries. You just
won't gain as much as when you were 18. :-)
35, you can still do powerlifting, probably.
Just read and read. Power factor books are good.
Buy a book on biology.
For more q's,email me. I did 3 years at IU med
school, and I would love to help.

Hey Simon , I'm 35 and I feel like I'm in better shape now than I was 10-15 years ago .I've been lifting seriously for a couple years , I take creatine and 200gr protine every day.I think age is a state of mind.I don't look 35 ,in fact I still have to show ID when I go out and I know it's because lifting and cardio keeps me looking young.Keep up the good work.

boy it's great to be 18 and in better shape then all the old fat asses at the gym who have wasted all their years screwing around and being lazy. I figure ill fit at least 270 pounds onto my 6'4" frame within the next half decade...boy will that be rock and roll!

Why do i have the same server as this asshole
M.Ruhl! I can't wait til I'm not on the same
university server as that piece, although he has a
point with these 35 year olds trying to get huge a
few years too late. At that age it's time to start
thinking about maintaining what you've got unless
you wanna sport some Deca-D

sorry guys, i have to agree with Ruhl here. At 35, its time to start thinking about raising a family, buying your own house, and dying.
just leave the pumping iron to us teenagers who can lift half as hard as you, and grow twice as much. shoot, if we work out like you fogies do, then we can really be kickin ass, or rock n' rolling.
piece out, all you pieces

Such a pathetic bitch that M. Ruhl, Matarazzo, or whatever the he wants to call himself. Responding to his own messages because no one else agrees with the things he says. Sorry, bitch. I knew I should've wore a condom all those times I fucked your mom. Who's yo' daddy, BITCH?

I'm 43...your never to old to lift weights, get
drunk, or get laid....just stay within your limits.. I only lift what I can...I get drunk on
a 6 pack now...and consider myself lucky if I
bust a nut twice in one day...although I still
smile when I do it...
You never know what you can accomplish...unless
you try.....just do it...Swoosh!

Hey Bubba, I'll go you 11 more. I'm 54 and still pumping. I love it. I won't be at any major contests around but it doesn't matter. The best contest is walking down the aisle at Safeway and looking at all these fat guys (young AND old) and knowing I look better than all of them.
Yessir, it pays to sweat once in a while (like three or four times a week).
So Simon (the guy who started this waaaay back), it's never too late, and you're never too old. Just DO IT!

I agree with tommolnar!
Its never too late to pump iron, and yes, you CAN still make great gains in muscle size! Its not just for teens anymore.
I heard on another message board; a guy was 40, and wanted to know of "his chances", and a 55 year old responded and said he owned a gym, and had guys all around in their MID TO LATE 50's who looked as big as guys in their 30's!!!!!! I am 37, and feel I can get as big as my genetics, and hard work will let me! DONT BE LED ASTRAY by those who would discourage you!
THEY SAY YOU ARE NEVER TO OLD!

I'm an "OLD" guy. I'm 42, started lifting a year ago. Went from 190 to 230, biceps 16 1/2, waist 34, thighs 25, calves 18, and chest 47. And I'm getting bigger all the time. Not bad for an old "Geezer" huh? GET BIG, OR GET OUT!!!

Yo Ruhl,
Just remember that with greater size comes greater maintenance. Being 6'4 at 270 lbs (if you really do sport those specs's) will only make it harder for you to stay in top shape. I hope that we can all bs with you when you hit your mid 30's. Let's see the expression on your stupid looking mug when some lean and strong 19 yr old pushes your cottage cheesed out ass out of the way as you nurse your sore elbows. Oh, and need I say that you should purge your putrid mouth out with soap. I'm sure that your mother didn't raise you to speak the way you do. Judging from past thing's you have written, you will most likely deliver a very stupid comeback deriven to insult my mother or father. Don't waste your time and energy. It appears that it would most likely negociate those precious workouts that you pride yourself with. Go read a book and energize your brain as well as your brawn.

Genetics and Bodybuilding
I really must say I am a bit baffled about this concept. I am an avid weightlifter 3-4X of intense training per week and I also hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. Yes, different people have different metabolisms due to genetics, but this can be adjusted via activities (and stimulants if need be). Same holds true for fat loss and muscle growth.....point is, what we consume and how hard we want to achieve gains really determines how "pumped up" we become.....if there were no such thing as steroids (legal and illegal), thermogenic supplements, protein powders, etc....then I think you would see a "genetic" basis between individuals as far as gains are concerned. If getting "really big" is genetically inherent, then why do so many lifters still use roids??? Should they not need them??? (food for thought)
Peace
