I need help with my eating habits and workouts. I suffer with an eating disorder and I tend to workout alot without eating. I can't seem to get myself out of this routine. I'm afraid to gain weight and figure I will stay fit if I don't eat but workout all the time. I do look pretty fit, but I'm also skinny and look gaunt all the time. Also, what excerises can I do to build my shoulders more? What's the best abdominal exercise for fast results?

Hi, Unfortunately, I can relate! I used to workout for hours and not eat. I looked great in the body, but my face was pale and hollow. I ended up passing out and spending several days in the hospital with iv's. You need to start slow. Try to eat small meals of protein, fruit and vegetable. This will give you the nutrients you are needing without the sugars to trigger a binge.

My shoulders really respond to military presses and shoulder shrugs. Also arm raises to the sides. I learned these at a weightlifting class I took a few years ago.

I do a lot of crunches but my cardio helps keep my abs firm.

my mother always told me if you have nothing good to say then dont say anything at all.
perhaps the two pricks ahead of me should heed this advise!!

deecee8, i hope you can work through this disease.
what weight are you?
i would suggest that you try and ignore the scales and instead look towards the mirror.
alot of women think that because they go above 8 /9 stone then they must be fat.
everyones make up is different, you can be 12 stone and look alot more fit and healthy than someone of 7 stone.
where do you live?
if you want to shoot me an e mail, its;

good luck

deecee, I think you should consider talking to a nutritionist. They can give you advice on your eating and possibly help you gain a few healthy pounds. As for your shoulders, try dumbell presses and some reverse flyes or. The only way to build your abs is to do any variation of crunches until you are fatigued, then rest and do them again. Your abs are different from other muscles in that they recover quicker.

wanna hear something strage? i had the same problem and im a male. well its not all that strange but it is serious. I was on the brink of fainting during my workouts, little or no food each day a 1 hour aerobic workout and a 1 hour weight session after that. I could barely stand let alone lift weights. Dizzy, headahces, tired.... its not fun. I lost weight but it was not what i wanted to lose, i lost alot fat around 90 lbs but i lost about 10 lbs of muscle. i had to start from scratch. Now im still losing weight, and eating. You have to eat small meals throughout the day and try not to eat too heavy after 7pm. unless you plan on going for a night run or something. I ususally eat 6 meals a day. A great meal replacement for 2 of my meals is Myoplex Lite Tropical Flavors. They are great tasting and healthy. I take a few suplemnts try diet fuel. That way you wont feel bad when you do eat or hungry when you are not. Drink alot of water most people eat when their thirsty, also drink a full 16oz of water before each meal. That should do it. Until then feel better!
