Description: Testosterone Propionate is an oil based injectable testosterone which reacts quicker and for a shorter time period than both Cypionate and Enanthate. Athletes experience excellent mass and strength gains but dislike the frequent injections. For this reason the German Testosterone Berco Suppositorien 40 mg/Suppositories from Funke are a favorite. An advantage of propionate is that less water retention is observed in athletes on propionate than on cypionate and enanthate. A disadvantage is that more frequent injections are required. Propionate is often used on a pre-contest cycle and is occasionally used by women athletes.

Strength athletes often inject propionate one day before a demanding lift.

Effective Dose: 50 to 100 mg daily or every two days.

Cycles & Stacking: Some athletes stack propionate with cypionate and enanthate as they want the immediacy of propionate before the depots begin to exert their effect. Athletes needing a testosterone surge after an Anadrol 50 cycle will stack propionate during the Anadrol taper. Propionate is also successfully used with Winstrol Depot and Dianabol. Always stacked with Nolvadex (1 tab per day) or Proviron especially at the higher dosages.

HCG is often stacked at the end of a cycle to jump start the testicles again. Usually 5000 I.U. every five days for fifteen days. This prevents some of the post cycle mass loss.

Many athletes stack with Anadrol 50, Dianabol, Deca-Durabolin, and Parabolan for bulking.

Some of the water weight gain is avoided in a stack with Winstrol or Oxandrolone.

Propionate is stacked with catapresan in those predisposed to hypertension and accutane or a less potent acne medication in those predisposed to acne.

Side Effects: Side effects are often less common with propionate than with enanthate or cypionate. Like all testosterones, Propionate is greatly androgenic, extremely anabolic, amortizes easily, and is moderately liver toxic. The high conversion to estrogen can lead to gynocomastia and fat storage. Propionate causes the body to retain water and electrolytes a characteristic favored by some and opposed by others. Higher dosages can lead to a decreased sperm count and decreased natural testosterone production. Currently, research is being performed to use testosterones as male birth control due to the temporary reduction in sperm counts observed in those on testosterone therapy. Reports indicate that as birth control, testosterone is more effective than the pill and condoms and that it is reversible upon cessation of use. In those predisposed to hypertension, testosterone can lead to high blood pressure. In adolescents, it can lead to premature stoppage in growth. Increased aggressiveness, although exaggerated by the media, can become more pronounced with testosterone enanthate. Hair loss and deepening of the voice sometimes occur.
