Frequently Asked Questions
Why Doesn't The Webcast Video Fit Inside The Player
Window?
Why Can't Windows Media Player Connect To The Webcast?
There may be some conflicting settings in your player options. To resolve this, please go into "Tools... Options..." from the menu, then click on the "Player" tab, and check the checkbox next to "Connect to the Internet (overrides other commands)", then hit the "Apply" button, then the "Ok" button.
Why Does It Say The Video Is Buffering?
The player normally downloads between 5 and 15 seconds of video before it starts playing. This goes into a buffer, which helps keep the video playing smoothly even if the player experiences a few seconds of Internet connection problems.
If you have a slower connection, however, the player may periodically run out of video in the buffer, and therefore it will pause and try to fill up the buffer again before continuing.
Why Do I Not Have A Picture?
Why Is My Picture Flipped Upside-Down And Has A Green
Bar At The Top?
This is a known issue, but doesn't happen in most cases. Microsoft is working on this problem, but there is no remedy at the present time. If you have a laptop, tablet PC, or rotatable monitor, simply rotating the display will help.
Why Is The Video So Small? Isn't There A Larger Version?
Due to bandwidth considerations, this is the only size available.
Where Is The RealPlayer/Quicktime/iPod Version?
Sorry, only the Windows Media format is available for the live stream. Replays also will be made available in WMV format. Check back in a few hours for these. To view the live stream in Windows Media Player, however, see "Why Do I Not Have A Picture?" (above).
Is There A Broadband Link Available?
The live stream is webcast at a nominal bitrate of typical lower-end broadband speeds for the widest compatibility. Typically this rate is 300 kbps or, depending on the show, up to 800+ kbps. These speeds are typically too fast for dial-up users, but should work with most DSL/cable broadband connections.
Why Is The Video Playback Choppy, Flickering, Purple Or
Green?
You may have incorrect settings for video acceleration and/or overlays. Please visit the Windows Media Player FAQ for instructions on how to fix these problems.
Why Can I See The Video But Can't Hear Anything?
