Packing Right:

Let's face it, packing isn't exactly our favorite hobby, but to be successful in the future you have to take extra steps here to ensure you stay on track. These are must-have items to pack while you're traveling.

What To Bring:

  • Insulated cooler bag
  • Gallon plastic baggies
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Sponge & soap
  • Plastic utensils
  • Paper plates
  • Food scale
  • Hot plate

Hotel Accommodations:

When you're choosing a hotel don't just ask if there's an amazing view or pay-per-view television. Make sure the accommodations they provide are in line with your goals. Make sure your hotel has a refrigerator, microwave, and a fitness facility-with at least cardio equipment. Remember you can bring elastic bands and train in your room doing calisthenics, band resistance training or even plyometrics-you've got options!

Helpful Tips:

  • Many times hotels say they don't have a fridge, but if ask if you can get one at an additional charge, they often accommodate.
  • When traveling on a plane and going through the security check-in, security doesn't allow ice or ice-bags. To get around this, bring all your refrigerated foods in empty gallon baggies and go through security. Once you're past the security gate, simply fill up the baggies with ice and store them in the overhead compartment on the plane.
  • Make sure you pack enough food for the Entire day!

Restaurant Dining:

Worst case scenario, if you don't have your food and go to a restaurant, make smart choices! Ask the waiter about portion sizes for chicken or lean cuts of meat. Special order foods to avoid butter, sauces, oils, or seasonings. Ask for steamed vegetables without any toppings. With these choices you'll be able to have a great meal to keep you on track.
