Here we go with the third edition of IFBB Pro Undercover and the questions just keep on coming! E-mail me your questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do guys like Shawn Ray, Darrem Charles, Fred Bigot and Troy Alves juice?
I think you already know the answer to this question but I'll answer it anyway: Of Course! Fact is you cannot have the physique these gentlemen do if you do use anabolic steroids. You just named some of the elite athletes in the sport of bodybuilding today, believe when I tell you all of them are well oiled. Shawn Ray has been top five in the Olympia over 10 times. He has been there on that stage as a result of a lot of hard work, tenacity and with the use of steroids.
If you want to get anywhere in elite bodybuilding, you have to use steroids, right?
If you want to go anywhere in any professional sport, you're going to have to make the decision whether or not to use steroids. It does not stop at bodybuilding.
But, since you asked about bodybuilding, lets start there. Yes, you do have to
use steroids if you plan on being a professional bodybuilder. Steroids were made
for a purpose and that purpose is to speed up protein synthesis. If you're trying to
put on muscle in the shortest amount of time then it only makes sense to use
steroids because that is exactly what they do. You don't stand a chance at being
an elite bodybuilder without the use of these drugs because every man standing
next to you is using them. I bet you didn't know that the professional baseball
associations do not get tested for steroids? How do you think certain Pro Ball
Players went from 190 lbs. to 240 lbs. in less than 18 months and then hit 70
home runs? It wasn't the use of Androdiol, I can tell you that! I would bet good
money they simply used some Testosterone.
Are the guys on the Mr. Olympia stage really okay?
Some one has been really telling you a bunch of crap! I know of no health problems existing in any of the Olympia athletes today. Just recently Mike Matarazzo sustained a serious shoulder injury and Fukes blew out both his knees but neither were from the use of steroids. I know of no ex-pro bodybuilders that are having health problems as a result of using steroids. The media will tell you all kinds of horror stories but conveniently leave out the fact that the people having health problems were also mind-altering drug users. I saw a pro football player on the news some years ago talking about how he had to get a heart transplant because of steroids. Later it was found out that he had a massive cocaine problem. The guys on the Olympia stage are fine!
Recently I attended the Southwest USA Pro Cup. There were some really messed up judging decisions. Did you see the show and what did you think?
Yes, I was at the show and you're very right, the judging was f&*#@d up! JD Dawodu got screwed so bad that I could feel his pain. Not only did he get beat by a man who shouldn't even be on a pro stage, George Farah, but also he also paid all his expenses to come in from England and then didn't qualify for the Olympia! George Farah is now going to the Olympia, he is terrible! One of the worst bodybuilders I've ever seen and now he beats JD, absolute bullshit. Then they put Gustavo Badell in sixth in front of Craig Titus who was off but not that far off. Badell was yellow and is so blocky it's a wonder he even get a call out. I don't think I've ever seen such a corrupt show in my life. George Farah was telling everyone on the east coast he got the nod to get placed in the top three by one of the head judges weeks before the show took place. Darrem Charles won the show to give you an idea of how weak it was. The top guys, Prince, Titus and Dillett came in off. Dillett was a stage disaster! His posing and stage presence is horrendously bad. He had better think about trying to get back into the sport with the way he walked onstage. He reminded me of a huge sloth with mental challenges. Funny thing is Dillett was quoted in saying "I'm going to Dallas for the easy win. I'm going to crush Craig Titus and anybody else who gets in my way". Laugh out loud! Paul is the absolute worst poser I have ever seen in my life, period.
How can you tell if you have the genetics to become a good pro bodybuilder?
That's a really tough question to answer. I guess the first thing to see how big your waistline is. If your waist is 30 inches or lower you already have a great start for a really good v-taper. I know Melvin Anthony has a 28-inch waist so any muscle he puts on takes the illusion of being much more than it appears to be. A good idea is to train, enter some local shows and see how you do. If you're winning every show you enter then chances are you're going to turn pro. There is a reason some of these guys win everything.
Why should I use supplements if steroids build muscle so good?
Very simple if you just stop and think about it. Supplements are perfect for adding needed protein to your diet. If you keep the nitrogen in your blood in the positive you will stay anabolic. Now if you're using steroids that speed up protein synthesis and you have a great deal of protein in your system all the time then you will grow. Being on a cycle of steroids is all the more reason you want to use supplements. The roids will enhance all the effects of supplements such as creatine, glutamine, protein, branch chain amino acids etc. Believe me when I tell you pro bodybuilders use much more supplements than they do steroids.
Make sure you catch the next IFBB Pro undercover #4 where I will give you my opinion of the Night of Champions that is taking place on May 18, 2002. The top names are Titus, Ruhl, Prince, Charles and big goofy Dillett. I personally think the placing is going to be much different at this show.
