IFBB Pro Undercover #21.

Let me start by saying I think that the judging at the 2003 Mr. Olympia was very well done. I am very pleased with the results and I commend the judges for their fair and just views on this year's athletes.

Column #21

Let me start by saying I think that the judging at the 2003 Mr. Olympia was very well done. I am very pleased with the results and I commend the judges for their fair and just views on this year's athletes. Let me also say, this was one of the weakest Olympia lineup's in many years. Shawn Ray, Flex Wheeler, Marcus Ruhl, Titus, Cormier and Kamali all sat out. With that being said, let's get started.

1st - Ronnie Coleman

Ronnie did exactly what Ronnie needed to do. He came in full and grainy and proved once and for all he is BY FAR the best bodybuilder in the world, past and present. The guy is a freak of nature that simply stands all alone when he's on stage or in the gym, period! I was getting f**king sick and tired of hearing it was close in any show and the fact that Gunter beat him last year at the GNC Pro Show was just plain wrong!

2nd - Jay Cutler

Jay had second place locked up before the show even started. Jay has a look that he'll almost always have on stage with not much room for error so I think the judges had second locked in before he got on stage. I agree with the decision 100% because Jay was awesome and he absolutely deserved second but second is exactly where he belonged. Cutler is awesome but not close to Coleman at all. I think Jay was a little flat but still looked good enough to take the number 2 spot.

3rd - Dexter Jackson

Dexter looked amazing! Hard as nails and a little bigger than usual which impressed everyone including the judges launching him into the top three in the world. The combination of his flawless package along with the lack of some other athletes in the show put Dexter in the front running. He later took the over all at the GNC Pro Show (results and pics) over Jay Cutler which proved he is a force to reckon with.

4th - Dennis James

Dennis walked on stage in the best shape of his life, period! He was full, huge and hard as nails. Chad Nicholls worked his magic on yet another pro bodybuilder resulting in fourth place. It was close between Dennis and Dexter which could have went either way but I think the judges went with the more pleasing physique. Dennis James was right on the money.

5th - Gunter Schlierkamp

Gunter was Gunter, plain and simple. I am one of the pros that just doesn't see what's going on. I do not think he is a top ten Olympia athlete at all, period. Even if Gunter is in shape, when he turns around his back totally destroys any implication that he has a great physique.

6th - Kevin Levrone

Have to give Kevin some props for placing in the top six never mind even showing up in the show. Kevin tore his tricep just weeks before the show but still walked on stage and took sixth place which shows some major tenacity. This showing was a mere shadow of Kevin's earlier days in the sport, at best he was 240 lbs. Fact is Kevin doesn't even train until it's time to get ready for a show. This way of off season training is starting to catch up in a negative way and I think Levrone is on his way out.

7th - Darrem Charles

Charles looked excellent with sensational V-taper and much needed extra muscle. His physique was classic in style and his presentation was right on the money. I was very happy for Charles because he is without a doubt a class act.

8th - Troy Alves

Troy did very well his first Olympia outing which is a direct result of other athletes sitting out the show. But I don't want to take anything away from Troy's conditioning or excellent V-taper. Fact is, he has a very pleasing physique and came into the Olympia with excellent conditioning which put him in the top ten in the world!

9th - Melvin Anthony

Melvin's 28 inch waste is an awesome sight to say the least. He had full bellied muscles and I think I would have had him at least one or two spots higher. The guy has some God given genetics that keep him in the mix every show he enters. Honestly he did look more impressive earlier in the season at the Pro Ironman. I think the judges were looking to see Melvin in his Ironman shape where he seemed to have more muscle or at least the muscle he has was filled out more. Still, I would have had Melvin in 7th or 8th.

10th - Ernie Taylor

In the past when I saw Ernie on stage all I would see is his triceps. His triceps have been repaired and everything seems to flow much better. Taylor has also put on some very noticeable muscle which gave him a great appearance at the Olympia. He is much thicker and his back and legs are very impressively improved. No one could have argued if Ernie placed higher in the show.

I don't think it's necessary for me to talk about any athletes out of the top ten. Lee Priest looked like shit even after bragging about how he was going to give his prize money to bodybuilders that were going to place out of the money. Lee definitely needs to concentrate on his training and less on the other's placing behind him. He made an absolute fool out of himself. Art Atwood should have sat the Olympia out after tearing his quad off the bone.

The Fitness Olympia

Now, let's talk about the Fitness Olympia; I've never been a big fan of Kelly Ryan (picture) but I have to say that I think she should have won the Fitness Olympia this year for sure. Her physique has changed dramatically and her routine was by far second to none. Susie Curry (picture) as apparently suffering from an injury and seemed to be very lethargic on stage leaving the door wide open for Ryan. I also thought that Adela should have also beaten Curry placing Adela in second. If you look at the score sheets the judges put Susie's routine in first which in my opinion is absolutely ridiculous. Curry's routine was flat and had no punch what so ever. Stacy Hilton, Claudia Kinstkie, Kelly Ryan and Jenny Hendershot all had better routines. I don't know what the hell the judges were looking at but the crowd was very disappointed and I even heard some of the fans stating they would not attend another fitness show if Susie Curry was entered. The silence of the crowd said it all!

Ms. Olympia

Lenda Murray showed up and took the show. Her lines and her V-taper are second to none. Lenda Murray is the Ronnie Coleman of bodybuilding. When Lenda walked onstage the fans along with the judges saw pure perfection. I was also very impressed with Denise Masino. Masino had great sex appeal and is one of the most beautiful bodybuilders to hit the Olympia stage.

2nd Annual Olympia After Party

I personally attended this party to make sure I could report with accurate information and frankly to see what all the hype was about. I have to say the party was an absolute blast and everyone including Jim Manion himself was there. I've heard that the Titus & Ryan After Parties were fun but this was the first I've been to and I was very impressed with the attendance, the music and the over all vibe of the event. When I got to the party around midnight Kelly Ryan and Craig Titus were both outside at the door making sure all the people were getting in as smoothly as possible. I have to admit that Titus was being pulled in every direction and showed a great deal of class and patience trying to keep everyone happy and feeling as if they were recieveing VIP treatment.

I went so far to speak with the House of Blues employees working behind the ticket to see how many people were inside the party. I was shocked to hear that the party was at max capacity of 2000 people. I would recommend anyone in this industry to attend a Titus & Ryan After Party. I saw Gary Strydom, Chris Cormier, Dorian Yates, Adela Freidmansky, Amy Fadhli, Tito Raymond, Stacy Greenwood, Lenda Murray and dozens of other pros. I've never seen so many beautiful girls in one place in my entire life, it was awesome!

Richard Jones Caught?

Now onto a totally different subject; Rumor has it that new IFBB Pro, Richard Jones was caught coming over the Mexican border with steroids. He pulled out his police badge in an attempt to be released from custody resulting in him being fired from the police force. As soon as new information is released I will inform of Richard Jones's status.
