Why I Got Started
I had always been interested in lifting weights but lacked the conviction to ever really stay dedicated. Throughout my teenage years I was also always that "fat funny guy" and I was sick of playing that role. I had been married and divorced and found myself fatter than ever, barely being able to make it up a flight of stairs without huffing.
I thought to myself I better get my butt in shape...especially if I'm single! I started reading on Bodybuilding.com all the time. I also got a hold of any books and fitness magazines I could get my hands on. I'm pretty sure I've read Arnold Schwarzenegger's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding about 3 times now!

Slowly but surely I worked my way into a routine that I stuck with and got my diet on track. Gradually the pounds started coming off but I could notice changes in the mirror faster than the weight was dropping! Now I'm in the best shape of my life and I will be completing my bachelor's degree in exercise science from Eastern Illinois University so I can be a personal trainer and help others achieve their goals! I have recently begun competing in bench press meets and I even won first place at my first meet!

Nutrition
Generally I try to get in about 6-7 meals a day. I try to keep carb intake limited to breakfast, pre-workout, and post-workout as well. A typical daily diet for me would be something like this:
Meal 1: (pre-workout)
Meal 2: (post-workout)
Meal 3:
Meal 4:
Meal 5:
Meal 6:
Meal 7:

Training
I normally train for 4 days each week in order to get enough days off for my muscles to recuperate. I like to hit each muscle group once (normally) except for my biceps and triceps which I work twice a week.
