Before
After:
I really wasn't happy with how I looked or felt about myself, I was overweight and extremely out of shape. Add to that I was a salesman for a sports nutritional supplement company and trying to get others on board with health living and fitness.
It was like akin to the doctor that tells you to quit smoking while he is a three pack a day habit himself. I came to the conclusion that I needed to make a change and endeavored to transform my body and my lifestyle into the very thing I was trying to promote to others. Once I started down the road to healthy living I became addicted to working out and eating right.
The first step in my transformation was to get educated on proper nutrition. Once I knew what kinds of food to eat and what times I should be eating, I put a health diet into place and stuck by it. From there I began training and set obtainable goals for myself.
Knowing that I needed guidance, I found a training partner that was extremely knowledgeable in the areas of diet and fitness and was willing to take the time to help me get on the right track.
Once the basic building blocks of a good diet and exercise program in place, I turned my sites on reaching that next level and being able to compete in my first body building show. With my training partner providing knowledge and support, I began training five days a week focusing on one body part per day.
Also, in an effort to burn off more fat and speed up my metabolism, I began a seven day a week cardio regime with five days spent on low intensity cardio and the remaining two days on high intensity cardio.
Here is what my diet consisted of for 6 months. It was 5 low carb days and 2 high carbs usually on Mondays and after leg day.

With each exercise I did 4 sets of 10 to 12 reps and 1 warm-up set.
Results don't come over night so never give up, train hard, eat right and don't cheat, and stay determined, motivated, and have the heart of a champion and it will all payoff in the end and you will be so proud of yourself.
Always remember no matter if you are dieting to look and feel better or training for a show, you accomplished a goal and that means a lot.
