Why I Got Started

I just want to say that my transformation is not yet over! You can follow my transformation in OBF Summer Classic here on BB.com! I got till the end of August so stay tuned!

I originally was that fat girl that thought if I ran once a month or every other month that was good enough. But I was wrong, who would have thought that eating fettuccine Alfredo two times a week was going to make you fat? No wonder I wore a size 14!

I got started working out because I had a lot of steam to blow off and running was the only thing that allowed me to forget anything negative that was going on in my life.

I got started in 2004 the day after Christmas, little did I know it was going to be an extreme life change for me. I have not yet missed a day of the gym (except when I got t-boned in my car and thought I broke my shoulder... that doesn't count!).

If I don't feel like going, I remind myself I will not meet my goal if I sit here and be lazy, and up I go to the gym. And on my way to the gym I pretty much call myself crazy cuz it's 4:30 am! I got really into running, at first it was hard and couldn't even do a mile, but then I got myself up to 15 miles a day!

At that point I was 100 pounds!! And a size 4! I look at that 15 miles now and faint over the thought of it (ha-ha). My diet at that time was all wrong, I had no idea what protein was. At that time all I looked at were calories, what I burnt in that day working out was what I was allowed to eat.

I didn't look very good to say the least. You pretty much could count every bone in my spine. I then packed my bags and moved to South Carolina from New York and stepped into a brand new chapter of my life.

I joined a gym that was HUGE and started to lift weights a little bit more (to the extreme). I liked to set little goals for myself. My first goal I remember setting like it was yesterday. I wanted to get the line separation from my hamstrings and quads.

Then my next goal was to squat 225 and I did it (I even won 20 dollars as a bet that I couldn't do it... was my part time job! Just kidding). But now my BIG goal is to step on stage, but its so hard!! But I stay focused.

I stay focused because I'm extremely disciplined when it comes to diet and I am so hungry to see how far I can actually go and I was also blessed with two really amazing people to come into my life and have nothing but positive influences on me, Jason F and Joe L. Before it was "man, I'm so fat," then it was "man... I'm so skinny!" (skinny fat) Now I want big muscles!!! Funny how you change through out the process!

How I Did It

I hired a great nutritionist named Joe. He guided me on the right path and gave me some amazing motivational speeches that made me work hard! He was also very patient with me and listened to everything that I had to say.

I had a successful transformation because I was extremely focused and didn't cheat on my diet, however it didn't click how hard I had to hit cardio, I thought that if I stuck to my diet I could just breeze through the cardio... wrong.

You have to work hard at everything. What you put into it is what you get. Now I bust at 100% during cardio I am for not being able to talk. I also wanted the challenge, I want to see how lean my body can get, and bring my mind to a new level of maturity (which I accomplished). I did not drink alcohol or even go out and party. Eat, sleep, train, work, repeat.

But a huge motivation was Bodybuilding.com days that I would get discouraged I would take a look at my progress pictures and see that I am changing and to stay focused. I also made sure to keep track of my weight and measurements on here and my main goal was to see my progress change!

I love the support I got on this website it made me feel like I wasn't alone. I talk to a few really amazing people on here and some have an impact on me and they really don't know how much they actually do. For example when I don't want to do a leg workout or I don't want to do cardio, I think about how lucky I am to be able to have a leg workout and to do cardio because in a instant it could all be taken away from you.

Supplements

Lipo 6x

I didn't take very much as far as supplements go. For a fat burner I use Lipo 6 but just recently started to take Lipo 6x (the new fat burner) to see how it works for me.

A Sample Week Of Diet

My diet is the same every day. My macros are 51% protein/44% fat/5% carbs - it's a keto diet (GO KETO, LOL!). I have only 2 shakes a day and pretty much eat tilapia, eggs, tuna, and chicken.

I got rid of peanut butter and almonds for my fat source because they stay on my mind all day long and I'm sick of them. If they are around me ill want them all of it too. It just better to not even flirt with the taste. They were also starting to make me sick (thank god).

A Sample Week Of Training

I never do the same workout I never do the same reps, I like to keep my body guessing. Usually I do reps of: 15, 12, 10, 8, and increase my weight each time. But not if I'm powerlifting. Then I stay with sets of 15. And can I just say that from the clean and jerk... I put on some size!

Suggestions For Others

Never give up. You can do or be anything that you want to. Stay away from the scales, they will lie!! Eat. I didn't believe it until I decided to just try it. I never though that eating so much and so often would give me a better body than I have ever had in my entire life.

Set goals for yourself. Having something to work towards and accomplishing is worth the effort. You will have so much pride and self respect. Not only will you grow physically, but you will grow mentally as well and be that much stronger! Be honest to yourself.

Filter your life, keep the positives and get rid of the negatives. Remember its your life and no one else's. Have fun training, have fun changing and always stay positive. Carry yourself with confidence and never settle for anything unless it's the best. Because you are the best.

Carry Yourself With Confidence.

The things we say in our minds and hearts about how we feel about ourselves are very powerful - but we're in control of these thoughts. If we stop to really think about strengths and our true inner beauty, we'll see ourselves in a more positive, hopeful, glass is half full, kind of way and change our self perception dramatically.
