Why I Started
A little more than four years ago I was so tired of how I looked. I tried every diet known to man and nothing worked! One day at work a girl was telling me about this book 'Body For Life.' I went out right away and bought it. The before and after pictures amazed me.
I knew I needed to lift weights and eat right so finally there was something telling me exactly what to do. I never lifted weights before, so I remember looking at the pictures in the back of the book so I knew how to do a bicep curl! I could eat six times per day and you gotta love that free day! I took pictures, and measurements every 4 weeks. Finally, something worked for me.
I did two 12-week challenges that year and finished in November 2001. I finished in the Top 2000 but winning wasn't my goal. I just wanted to get in shape and say I did it! What started out as quest to get in shape has led me to where I am today.
Over the past few years I've continued to workout but it has always been a goal of mine to do an NPC figure competition. Last Fall I read in Oxygen Magazine that Monica Brant was using Kim Oddo as her nutritionist.
I found his website and emailed him right away. I sent him pictures and we set up a phone consult to get started. From the first moment I trusted him. I remember during that first phone call he told me he was going to teach me discipline. Well ... he did and so much more! So a new quest began in September 2004.
On May 21, 2005 I competed at the Carla Sanchez show in Denver, Colo. I won my age category and placed 2nd in my height category!

Suggestions For Others
My advice to others is to believe in yourself and never quit. You've got to set goals and dream big! Kim Oddo is truly the best in the business. The man is a genius! I emailed him pictures throughout and we continued to talk and update my program. I never second guessed him and followed his plan to the "T."

I recently turned 39 years old (young!). I've been married for over 15 years. We have two children ages 13 and 10. Determination and hard work ... nothing is impossible!
