The following describes my results and feelings about this stack. First I think I should state that I kept my training the same as I had for the last 2 months, a Monday, Wednesday, Friday split. I also kept my diet to the bulking phase I had been using for the 2 weeks before that (I was taking in approximately 4,000 calories per day). I have been using the products for the past 3 weeks and plan to continue using them (although I'm going to cycle the GABA).
Below I'm going to give my opinion on each product:
Prolab L-Glutamine: I have been religiously been taking Prolab Glutamine since June, and think it is a very worthy supplement. I took 5 grams a day, twice a day, once in the morning and once again 1.5 hours before bed.
AST VyoPro: This was probably the first non-5 lb. whey I have ever bought. I wasn't expecting it to taste any better than the 5 lb., although after taking my first shake I found differently. It mixes much easier, and is much smoother and sweeter than the 5 lb. Optimum 100% Whey Protein I had been taking.
AST NAC: I think out of the whole stack, I had the worse experience with this product. I was taking the pill for the first time, and by accident bit it while stumbling back from the gym after leg day. Never bite one of these pills for you will taste one of the worst flavors ever imaginable. Aside from that, I think between the NAC and the higher quality protein, my recovery time was increased greatly. I felt less soreness the next day after working out, and felt stronger at my next work out session.
AST GABA: The scoop they give you in this is a real pain in the ass to use. With that aside, this amino acid helped my sleep greatly. Like it says on the back of the bottle, I felt a small tingling in my lips after taking it, but about 15 minutes later I was sleeping much better than I had been when I wasn't taking it. This is very important to me, because it is impossible to sleep in the dorms, and I get very angry when I don't get my beauty rest.
When I first started four weeks ago, I weighed 190 lbs., and was dumbbell pressing 90 lbs. for 6 reps. At the end of the three weeks I had increased my weight to 198 lbs. (with little noticeable fat gain) and my dumbbell press to 95 lbs. for 9 reps. I found these gains to be very concrete and worth the money.
Lastly, I want to explain how much and when I took each product:
L-Glutamine: I took 5 grams of this in the morning a half hour before breakfast and then another 5 grams 1 hour before bed in my protein shake.
VyoPro: I took this product after working out in Gatorade and water (1 scoop) and then another scoop in milk before bed.
NAC: On work out days I took it (2 capsules) directly after working out, on non-workout days, I took it mid-day about ½ hour before my mid-day meal.
GABA: I took this every night (5 grams) about an hour after the protein shake before bed.
For people like me who don't get good gains with creatine or for someone who is on an off cycle and still looking to gain, I think this stack could prove to be very rewarding. Combined with good nutrition and proper training you can expect very good gains from a stack like this. For more help, click on the blue links above for a ton of information on each product.
