From their weight loss product, ErgoBurn NMT to bookending your workouts with their pre-workout formula ErgoPump NMT and recovery blend AfterMath, Ergogenix wants to play a role in creating success stories and transformations.

The CEO of the company, James Klein, sat down with us to discuss their brief history and what is sure to be a long future in the industry. Bodybuilding.com is proud to feature Ergogenix as the December Supplement Company of the Month!

Q: Can you please tell our readers how your company started?

A:
ErgoGenix has been in business since 2009. We started the company with the goal of delivering reasonably-priced top-quality supplements, based on science. Our goal is to have offerings in the major categories in sports nutrition, namely: weight loss, pre-workout and post-workout.

Can you tell us about some other important people who helped you out in the beginning?

I am extremely grateful for the support of the DeLuca family. Their vision changed the way nutritional supplements are sold, and more importantly they provided a vast pool of top quality information that can be accessed by people around the world.

The impact they have had on this industry has not yet been fully realized, and I am sure that with Ryan's vision, Bodybuilding.com will become the largest supplement retailer in the world.

What are some of your top products right now?

Are there any new and exciting products that you are coming out with soon?

In early 2012, we plan to release ErgoShred, a premium fat burner/weight loss aid as well as two additional flavors of ErgoPump NMT.

Have you sponsored any people and if so how have they impacted your company and the industry?

We currently sponsor Lynn Howland, who has an extremely inspirational story.

Let's say a customer comes to you who is just starting out and can only afford one product. Which one do you recommend and why?

Much would depend on the individual's goals, but assuming that the person is trying to get in better shape and needs some help with energy and focus as well as appetite, I would recommend ErgoBurn NMT.

We have taken a responsible approach to the dosing of the stimulants, while still delivering great energy and outstanding focus in addition to helping maintain a healthy appetite level.

What do you believe is the best and worst things about the supplement industry?

In my opinion, the best thing about the industry is our ability to help the motivated consumer attain their goals through the use of supplements, in conjunction with proper diet, exercise and lifestyle.

The worst thing in my opinion is that the consumer has been trained to expect to feel "something" within 20 minutes of consuming their supplement. This instant gratification mentality has caused many companies to up the ante with ever-increasing doses of stimulants, which can lead to adverse reactions such as jitters and "crashes."

As an example, much research suggests that what is consumed post-workout can have the most impact on a consumer's results, but nothing can be felt from consuming protein/carbs/amino acids.
