I will discuss training, nutrition, posing, school, work, relationships and more as I go through my contest prep for the 2008 BLNPA New England Natural. This article will deal with the foundation of my training and diet for my contest prep.
|20 Weeks Out.
I will be competing the in BLNPA New England Natural on April 12th, 2008. I started my contest prep a little shy of 20 weeks out from the contest on November 26th, 2007. The following articles will give you a glimpse in my life during contest prep.
|16 Weeks Out.
The first 4 weeks are in the books and I love the results that I have gotten. I am right on track to be huge and shredded once I step on stage in April. I am happy that I have given myself plenty of time for this contest prep so that I can break my body in slowly.
|12 Weeks Out.
The Next 4 weeks (16-12) have been just as productive of the first 4. Each week I feel that I am getting a little more cut while still keep most of my size and strength. Christmas fell during this last 4 weeks. I had to endure all the holiday foods and stick on the diet.
|6 Weeks Out.
Well here I am 6 weeks out from my contest; the last 6 weeks (weeks 12-6) have been the hardest so far. In this past 6 weeks I have updated intensity in my training and cardio, stuck with my diet 100% and had to revamp my schedule because of the new Spring College semester.
|3 Weeks Out.
The Next 3 weeks are in the books (weeks 6-3 from my contest), man were they tough to get through. Last article I told you how I was increasing the intensity of my workouts and that seemed like a lot, well these 3 weeks saw another increase in training, less calories and to top it off I needed to study and take midterms!
|3-1 Weeks Out.
It has been 19 tough long weeks of contest dieting and training. The last 2 weeks, 3-2 were more of the same; fasted morning cardio, low calories, intense training. These last 2 weeks went by in a flash. Though they were only 2 weeks they were extremely productive with both my diet, training and posing.
|1 Week Out.
1 week out. Also known as "Peak Week". The sole purpose of your final week on the contest prep is to peak for your contest day. Workouts and cardio are kept to a minimum but diet is critical. Everything you put in your mouth has a purpose. That purpose is to be full, vascular and dry when you step on stage.
|1 Day Out.
1 day out. I wake up at around 7:00AM. I take a look in the mirror and am extremely excited. I know the tweaks I have done to my diet this week have worked out. At that moment my muscle are full. I am holding very little water. Also I am extremely vascular.
It is finally here. The day of the contest, 20 weeks of training, dieting, and sacrifice has all led up to this one day. I wake up of 5:00 AM. First thing I do is check the mirror. Only a smile comes to my face as I see that I have nailed my conditioning and will be perfectly peaked for the stage.
