I am starting up the program next week, had a question on supplements. I am going to try most of what he has listed, but he only has the servings on workout days, what do you take/when on non-workout days?

It appears that the best option for the non-workout days would be to cut out the extra protein shakes in the pre/post work-outs.(Evident in the protein/calorie count variance from On/Off days) Also you won't need your supplements concerning pre/post work out preparation and recovery. Really just stick to your standard fish oil, multi vitamin, CLA(If thats part of your goodie bag) and choice servings of BCAAs to continue building those into your system. Remember to keep up activity on those off days however. Best of luck!

I'm just curious about how it would affect my progress if I have to take a week off in-between to go on a trip with my family. I would ideally want to time it up after one of the 4 week sections, but I don't know if I can do that.

1 Thing I LOVE about this guy is he really does use science in these w/o why? Because what people don't get is each body part has several different muscle groups each muscle in those groups needs different angles weights isolation and multi joint movements to work them over all each w/o targets all sides and angles which means over all total body growth because you have so many muscles reacting to these w/o that your body can only react 1 way "GROWING" can't wait to see results in 3 months hell even 3 weeks I think It will make a huge difference!

Im a little confused about the rest pause and the drop sets sets. I'll use the bench press as an example. In the video Jim does his rest pause after his 4th set, but in the PDF format it says to do the rest pause set as the last set of your exercise. When is the proper Time to do the rest pause or drop set?

The rest-pause set to the best of my knowledge is your final set. So lets say you need to complete 3 sets of the exercise, on your final set(3) with the weight really stacked on you will do as many reps of that set as possible, rest then continue till failure again. Set=9 reps- complete 5(failure) REST complete 4(failure) and that is your Rest/Pause set.
Also, I was taught by a Mr. Miranda a few years ago in High School. Just a bit of nostalgia...

I'm a little confused about when to do the rest-pause set. For example for the Bench Press on day one, do you do 4 sets and then immediately following the 4th set do the rest pause, or is the rest-pause set considered the actual 4th set, and therefore done after the 3rd set is completed?

Hey Jim
I am really excited to try out this program, but I have couple questions. I noticed you did not mention any rest time between sets? what rest time would you recommend for week 1,2,3 and 4?
And also, I noticed on your supplement page, you stated that "* Beta-alanine works by combining with another amino acid (L-Hystadine) to form a compound called carnosine.". So would it be more beneficial to invest in carnosine instead of Beta-Alanine?

Thanks for all the help

you can incorporate cardio before or right after your strength training session (or do cardio on non lifting days). Two recent studies (one in US and one in Sweden) showed there was no muscle loss whatsoever (but muscle gains!) if you do cardio and weights together. It's a common misconception about doing two together - but science said nothing is wrong with it and , actually, beneficial.
I wouldn't do it together so I can save my energy for pushing to the max on lifting weights since I wanna gain muscle weight.
Since you wanna lose weight-that might be a good idea.
