[ Q ] A'ight Sean, thanks for taking the time to do this interview. I know you're a busy man who is focused on the task at hand so let's get after this. Where do you currently live?
    dot

[ A ] I currently live in New Jersey but looking to relocate to LA after the USAs.

    dot
    [ Q ] When's your birthday?
    dot

      [ A ] June 28th-Cancer baby.

    dot
[ Q ] Good man. July 3rd here. Doing anything to celebrate it?
    dot

[ A ] I didn't even have a chance to celebrate my birthday. This will be my 3rd show in less than a month. Just so happens that my birthday fell into my contest-prep. After back-to-back overalls, I definitely wasn't looking to celebrate just yet. My summer and birthday are history. Maybe next year. LOL!

[ Q ] What song is playing in BSA's iPod when working out?
    dot

[ A ] When working out my iPod has it all. It's non-stop music from Hip-Hop to Club, but no Rock n' Roll. I can't train to that. Sorry, my iPod is just used so nobody can talk to me or ask me... how much I can bench, etc. If you need music to get you through a workout, you're not a champion. I'm not there to dance and bob my head... LOL... save that for the club.

    dot
    [ Q ] What is your motto?
    dot

[ A ] The motto I live by is: "Train hard and win easy." So far in 2008 it's working. Also, "Only the strong survive". Anyone who can do three shows in a month is very strong.

[ Q ] Any words to the haters who doubt your chances of turning pro at this show?
    dot

[ A ] I don't have any words for the haters or non-believers. They honestly motivate me. I got too much positivity going on in my life to worry about the haters.

If I worried about everything the haters say online, etc. I would be a swimmer. LOL! A huge swimmer. You gotta believe to achieve and every show I enter (my goal) is to win the overall. So that being said I am looking for my third overall at the USAs. My biggest competition is the reflection I see in the mirror every day I wake up.

    dot
[ Q ] You seem to have a different attitude than in previous year's competing - why is that?
    dot

[ A ] I have a different attitude this year for the simple fact that I matured. I'm not getting younger and in the past I had a lot of negative luggage hanging around me.

I got rid of all negative influences in my life and became more of a people's person. Of course you still have those who voice there opinion about me without ever speaking to me, but everyone has a right to their opinion. But the people that I do allow in BodySpace, love me. I can't make everyone happy but I do treat people the way they treat me.

[ Q ] You've always been a big dude, dwarfing some of the current pros at expos. What did you do different to find a formula for success on stage?
    dot

[ A ] Yeah I was always one of the bigger guys walking around expos but couldn't get it together on stage. One of the main reasons was dieting. I always wanted to be the biggest and baddest. Just being honest...

I realized after 10 years that thinking like that was not gonna get me a pro card or anywhere in life. So I did some soul searching an made a promise to my kids to be the best Big Sean Allan can be in 2008. It definitely has not been easy but its been a great experience. Being taller I had to figure out how to diet down without losing muscle and size. Simple.

    dot
[ Q ] Do you work with any one on your contest prep? If so how important is it for a competitor to use someone?
    dot

[ A ] I am currently working with Dave Palumbo with my contest prep. I was never the type of guy to listen to anyone but I realized every top bodybuilder has a team and a nutritionist. So I reached out to Dave and we have been on a mission since then.

    Dave Palumbo Interview!
After a successful college career as a long distance runner, Dave Palumbo, at age 22, began training with weights to look good at the beach.

    David Robson

Not only is he my nutritionist, he is a friend. It's great to have someone in your corner who knows nutrition like he does and I wanna thank Dave and his fiancé Colette. They are true team players. What I like about Dave is he ain't gonna blow smoke up your @ss. He keeps it real and I like that. I hate fake people.

[ Q ] You have a softer side many may not know about. You have children and they are competitive in sports. What do they think of dad competing?
    dot

[ A ] Yes, I am a full-time dad AND mom. I have custody of both of my older kids, Deshaun and Jasmine. They are 13-14 years of age. Both are outstanding athletes and great students in the classroom.

I don't raise them to be bodybuilders or fitness, etc. I allow them to be whatever they wanna be. That's the problem with parents now a days. They want they kids to follow their dreams. Not Good. Allow a kid to be a kid and let them grow into whatever sport they wanna participate in.

My kids are my everything. They just get tired of the same questions that their peers ask them when I go watch them compete. But they love seeing daddy shine. Without them I wouldn't be who I am today. Kids are the future and I love my kids.

    dot
[ Q ] Some people think you're a prick with an attitude, others think you are just confident. Which is it?
    dot

[ A ] I'm not concerned about what people think of me. Life is too short and only the strong survive. People are gonna always have something negative to say even if your doing something good. That's life.

I don't even care to discuss this question. I am who I am. Take it or leave it. The only people that matter to me are my family & friends. Many think I'm arrogant, cocky, etc. I'm none of the above. I'm just confident in my God givin abilities.

    dot
[ Q ] You weighed in at 280lbs at Jr. Nationals - what's the prediction for showtime in Vegas?
    dot

[ A ] I don't worry about where I will weigh in at the USAs. There's no scale on stage my man. Whether I'm 270 or 290. I will be at my best and that's all that matters. Even at my lightest bodyweight, I will still look bigger than what the scale reads. But I don't plan on changing anything up from my prior to overall victories because if it ain't broke, Big Sean will not fix it.

[ Q ] You're going for three overall victories in less than 30 days. Aside from turning pro what's kept you focused doing three shows in such a short time?
    dot

[ A ] Going for three Overalls in less than 30 days has been a major task. It's been taking its toll on me both physically and mentally but what has kept me focused and striving is that pro card.

It's been 10 long years and opportunities come once in a life time. I won't let this opportunity pass me by. I asked my children if they wanted to wait or continue chasing my goals. They both said don't quit now dad, you came this far, GO FOR IT! Also my motto is, "here today and gone tomorrow." So I gotta go for it because nobody is promised tomorrow.

    dot
[ Q ] Anything else you wish to leave the people reading this with?
    dot

[ A ] I wanna thank Deshaun, Jasmine, my mom, Dave, Colette, Steve Blechman at MD, ABB & ON, all my fans for your continued support. Without the fans this sport is nothing. There wouldn't be shows without them. Until next time guys... Best of luck to all and I will see ya in Vegas!

    dot
[ Q ] Thanks Sean, I appreciate your time and thanks for sharing a bit more about yourself. All the best in Vegas and we'll be there to catch all the action.
