This week served to be a mentally and physically challenging week, both in and out of the gym. My work schedule was crazy as I had to work through the weekend and spend some very long days and nights working hard to meet a big deadline. Well, I am proud to say that despite the extremely busy and hectic work week I was able to complete every one of my weight training and cardio sessions and stay on my nutrition and supplementation plan 100%. We also met our big deadline at work on Tuesday! It was tough and I definitely didn't get as much sleep as I normally do, but doing everything I need to do to be my best for my contest is a priority to me so I am willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
I was so busy this week that I felt really focused and intense during my weight training and cardio sessions. I didn't have time to be inefficient or "dragging" and I made some good improvements in the gym.
I also saw my the new design for my Russyeager.com website. It is almost ready to go! I won't say it will definitely be ready this week because every time I do it seems like we run into a problem, but there is a good chance the new design will be up this week.
Training is going very well right now. I am feeling strong and focused, and I can tell that I am starting to get a little leaner, which is motivating for me to keep pushing. I know that I am working hard and making improvements, but still I believe that there is so much more I can do if I continually demand myself to do so and raise my mental focus and expectations. I have found that when I do decide to just go for a weight that I have previously thought would be too heavy, more times than not, I am able to step up and complete the challenge. I must make sure that I am asking enough of myself every day.
Cardio was good this week. I had to adjust my schedule slightly due to work and perform my first cardio session of the week on Sunday instead of Monday, but hit every session hard. My Thursday session was a little tougher to get through. I felt worn down from training and work, but I managed to tie my previous distance, none the less.
Nutrition and Supplementation
I decided to make my first calorie cut this week. I will be making gradual calorie reductions to my diet during my contest preparation and try to spread them out over several meals. This week, I decreased my daily calories by 316. The first decrease was ? scoop of VP2 from Meal #1 resulting in a decrease of 50 calories. I also reduced ? tablespoon of natural peanut butter from meal #6 for ? reduction of 50 calories. The third reduction was removing a serving of DGC from my pre-workout DGC and VP2 mixture resulting in a 46 calories reduction. I also cut my serving of oatmeal with Meal #7 in half to 1/2 cup for a reduction of 75 calories. My final calorie change comes from reducing ? serving VP2 and ? cup of milk from my 2:00 a.m. feeding.
I also started taking Dymetadrine Xtreme this week. Man, I really love this product. I was so alert, energized and focused during my workouts. It definitely gets me going!
Due to my work schedule I did not get to take assessment photos last weekend, but I am definitely going to take them this weekend and then every week from here on out until the show.
