[ David Robson ] Hi Amy. Could you please give me a little background on how you began as a model and where this career has taken you so far?

[ Amy Grosso ] Hi Bodybuilding.com! Thanks for taking the time to interview me today.

I have been a model for a number of years. I love modeling and it has taught me a lot about myself and others. It has taken me places and given me opportunities I never imagined. Currently I am blessed to be heard on Playboy Radio, where I am known as The Sex Scientist® giving men and women advice about love, sex, dating and relationships. I also educate about sexual science and vitamin formulas for libido, food, health and wellness and provide scientific information on all of the above.

[ DR ] What is it about your look and personality that makes you a popular choice for anyone wanting a model to best represent their products?

[ AG ] Well, that is a funny question; I guess you would have to ask someone that knows me. However, I enjoy being a spokeswoman and model because I have a background in sales and a passion for products that work. I also enjoy being a part of company branding to increase revenue and help others.

[ DR ] You are known as the Sex Scientist®. How did you come up with this name?

[ AG ] I am known as The Sex Scientist® because I invent libido formulas and have been making pills and formulating vitamins of all kinds for years. People started calling me that, and it stuck. I liked it, so I trademarked it. And now I own it.

My largest audience is from Playboy, and Playboy Radio. Usually people cannot believe that I am actually a scientist, I suppose many think that it is not possible to be a model and also have a brain. I find that amusing and fascinating. Before I was a model, I was a scientist, and worked on studies and product development, nutraceuticals, pharmacokinetics and research.

I am a graduate from Rutgers University and never thought the modeling and science aspect of myself would become one career. I have made countless formulas for libido products and health vitamins out in the market today.

[ DR ] Tell me more about your role on Playboy Radio. How did this role come about and what does it entail?

[ AG ] I have often been told that the products I formulate are really treasured by people, and I have always been thrilled to hear feedback from the public. I was on a segment for Playboy TV a few years ago for Models who are smart and beautiful, and that led to me being asked by the producer of Playboy Radio to appear as a guest on their show for a small segment.

I soon appeared on "Playdate" and was liked by the listeners. I can now be heard the 1st or 2nd Monday night each month on "Night Calls" with Christy Canyon and Niki Hunter on Playboy Radio Sirius& XM Radio Channel 99. I discuss my latest inventions and formulations and talk about The Playboy Mansion, events, and listen to callers, answer questions and we all talk about "what women think." We have so much fun and invite anyone to call in and listen.

[ DR ] What is it you like most about giving advice on Playboy Radio?

[ AG ] I love people. I really enjoy listening to others and their experiences or questions they may have. It's so nice to be able to share and give a woman's point of view to men who can call in and be honest. It's great to hear the questions men ask.

There are many great things about Radio, but one special thing is that men (or women) can call in and be anonymous and be able to share openly (where maybe otherwise they would not). People can call in and tell a true story or ask serious questions about sex and sex products, or relationships and the get answers and info they want.

[ DR ] If someone was experiencing decreased libido in the bedroom what would you suggest they do, along with taking your product?

[ AG ] I am not a doctor, but I am the Sex Scientist®. First I need to remind people that having decreased libido is oftentimes normal and okay. This happens to many people because sometimes stress or other things in your life override their libido. However, if a man or woman experiences frequent libido decrease and often finds themselves less in the mood, they should visit their doctor.

Sometimes hormonal imbalances or new medicines can cause this for a person, sometimes people even think too much about their libido and their obsession of contemplation leads them to erectile dysfunction, or lower libido. When people are relaxed, happy, and enjoying themselves their libido has a way of coming back into their life.

If men or women suffer from sexual dysfunction, erectile dysfunction, or low/no libido, there are expert doctors out there who are trained and specialize in these fields and I encourage people to visit their doctor for check ups as well, and talk openly with your doctor to make sure you are in the best health at all times.

[ DR ] What are some of the key things a person must consider if they wish to please their partner sexually?

[ AG ] In order to please your partner sexually, one of the most important things is communication. Pleasing your partner and yourself has to do with that. Loving the act of sex, and loving your partner is also a great enhancement for having great sex as we all know, but communication can deepen this on many levels.

[ DR ] What are some common turn-offs regarding sexual performance?

[ AG ] On Playboy Radio, many men and women tell me the same thing- turn-offs for them are: selfishness, not switching it up for fun, those who only want it their way, being closed-minded, thinking you know it all, no passion, and no intimacy. Some argue this point, but oftentimes intimacy leads to better sexual pleasure. Try it.

[ DR ] Could there be such a thing as the perfect sexual partner? If so, what traits would they have?

[ AG ] Yes there certainly is such a thing as the perfect sexual partner. However, to each individual this is different. In my opinion a perfect sexual-partner could be many things, but the most important trait to have is attentiveness. Many callers on Playboy Radio discuss that they love a sexual partner who is willing to be open and sometimes adventurous.

However, many people have told me on the air that having traits of being warm, loving, compassionate, understanding, and really being into your partner far outweigh being adventurous for many.

I think being honest and giving your partner whatever they desire is one of the best things a woman or man could do for a lengthy period of great sex.

[ DR ] What are some common complaints you hear about regarding poor performance in the bedroom?

[ AG ] Many women obsess over their bodies and think they need to lose more weight, or that their man is looking at a part of their body the whole time like the back of their legs (laughs). I assure you, they are not looking at that when there is so much more to experience. But women think this.

And men sometimes say that they feel they need to be bigger, more masculine to feel sexy in bed, when in fact women will love you for the way you are, as well as love your confidence. Don't let your thoughts take away from the experience and the moment.

[ DR ] What other problem areas do women tend to obsess about when aiming to present a sexy look?

[ AG ] A good example is if your man asks you to dress up, just do it. Don't worry about if you feel bloated that day. Chances are he won't notice because you are giving him what he asked for and he is too turned on to notice any silly thing in your mind.

[ DR ] What features would you consider most sexy on a man, and why?

[ AG ] I love every part of a man. I have to start with the brain because this is where all the attraction comes from and all of the thoughts and soul of a man. But certainly I think the face and the hands. There is a certain special quality about people in their eyes and the kind of hands they have. I, of course, think that men who stay in shape are sexy, and if I had to say - legs, arms, chest- all very sexy. I think I should stop here before I go too far.

[ DR ] How important is exercise and health in terms of sexual performance and ones ability to attract the opposite sex?

[ AG ] All people are different; some prefer more muscle, and some less when it comes to attractiveness. However, working out and taking care of yourself is something I believe everyone should do- to stay healthy and be their very best in the bedroom and in life.

Pheromones play an important part in the ability to attract the opposite sex, not just at the gym, but all day long. For example, after a man works out in the gym "androsterone" will emit from his body for days after. So men need to understand it is not only when they sweat in the gym. The same goes for women. Sex pheromones, epideictic pheromones, territorial pheromones, signal and releaser pheromones are very powerful in women and men.
