 More than 300 amateur athletes expected: Amateur Bodybuilding, Fitness, and Figure Contests debut! By: Press Releases
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, February 2007 COLUMBUS, Ohio - The First Annual Arnold Amateur Bodybuilding, Fitness, and Figure Championships will debut at historic Veterans Memorial Auditorium and the Greater Columbus Convention Center March 2-3, welcoming amateur competitors in a major new event at the 2007 Arnold Sports Festival.
"These four amateur contests will let spectators see 'The physiques of the future', the promising new athletes in bodybuilding, fitness, and figure from around the nation," said Bob Lorimer, event co-promoter with the Fitness Factory's Mike Davies. More than 300 amateur athletes from more than 40 states will compete in the four events. Overall winners will have their photographs taken with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, and will receive tickets to attend their corresponding professional competitions, the Arnold Classic, or the Ms. International, Fitness International and Figure International competitions. The Arnold Sports Festival, with bodybuilding as the heart of the weekend, features 39 events, 14 Olympic sports, 17,000 competitors, and more than 132,000 spectators. Prejudging for all four events and fitness and figure finals will be Friday, March 2 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 9:00am-2:00pm. tickets are $25. The men's and women's amateur bodybuilding finals will be March 3 at the Arnold Fitness EXPO at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, 9:00am-11:00am. admission is $10.
