FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, February 2007 COLUMBUS, Ohio - With 39 events and 14 Olympic sports the 2007 Arnold Sports Festival, March 2-4, offers fitness and fun for the entire family. The Arnold Sports Festival is the world's largest multi-sport fitness weekend, with more than 17,000 athletes. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his longtime friend in fitness, Jim Lorimer, will host the festival. A popular focus of the weekend is the Arnold Fitness EXPO, with 650 fitness-related booths and ongoing stage entertainment that highlights the amazing array of events the Arnold Sports Festival has to offer. More than 132,000 sports fans are expected to attend the annual events, which have expanded into three venues: The Greater Columbus Convention Center, Veterans Memorial and Nationwide Arena. Olympic Events: The Arnold Sports Festival is quickly becoming a proving ground for many aspiring young athletes. Former Olympians and Olympic hopefuls will appear or compete in 14 Olympic sports, including archery, boxing, fencing, figure & speed skating, gymnastics, hockey skills, judo, running, table tennis, tae kwon do, weightlifting, wrestling, and wu shu. In anticipation of the 2008 Summer Olympics being held in Beijing, many Chinese Olympians will be participating in a number of sports.
The Arnold Sports Festival includes a strong youth and family focus. Most of the participants will be youngsters competing in archery, cheerleading, dancesport, gymnastics, fencing, figure skating, speed skating, hockey skills, martial arts, table tennis, weightlifting, and wrestling. Top student athletes have a chance to win one of eleven $1000 college scholarships presented by the Rotary Club of Columbus. The 19th Annual Arnold Classic, Ms. International, Fitness International and Figure International competitions are among the most prestigious bodybuilding events in the world. "For a $10 daily EXPO ticket you can see more world class sporting events than anywhere else," Lorimer said. "Bring the entire family, there is something for everyone."
Gov. Schwarzenegger and Lorimer have nurtured what began as a world-class bodybuilding competition in Columbus during the 1970's into one of the worlds most popular and innovative sports festivals.

EXPO tickets are $10/person/day, are good for all events at the Columbus Convention Center Friday-Sunday, Nationwide Arena Sunday, Nationwide Arena's Dispatch Ice Haus Friday-Sunday, and Veterans Memorial Friday for Archery and can be purchased at the doors. The VIP package includes reserved seating for Friday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 3rd professional competitions, a buffet party, a fitness training seminar with Arnold and the champs, and 3-day admission to the Arnold Fitness EXPO 2007 for $350.
