Peter McGough Promoted

(New York, NY, 11/7/05) - David Pecker, Chairman and CEO of American Media, today announced the promotion of FLEX Editor In Chief Peter McGough to Group Editorial Director of AMI's Muscle & Fitness and FLEX Magazines.

McGough has a 40-year involvement in bodybuilding and, starting out in England, has spent the last 25 years in bodybuilding journalism. As a result, he is one of the world's most renowned experts in the sport of bodybuilding. He has enjoyed unprecedented access and cultivated close relationships with many of the sport's top stars, including Mr. Olympia's such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lee Haney, Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman.

He is one of the industry's most respected journalists, and joined Weider Publications in 1992 as FLEX Senior Writer. In 1997 he was appointed Editor in Chief of FLEX, and earlier this year became the chairman of the Sports & Fitness Supplement Association (SFSA). Weider Publications has been publishing Muscle & Fitness for over 65 years. FLEX was launched in 1983.

As Group Editorial Director, McGough will be responsible for overseeing the editorial planning for both Muscle & Fitness and FLEX magazines. Additionally, he will continue to lead both magazines presence at industry wide events and trade shows.

McGough will continue to be based at AMI's Woodland Hills, California offices.
