NoX2 By Pinnacle
Review by Matt C
I have tried a number of nitric oxide supplements before, which I will list here in the order which I would consider to be the best ones (top of the list) to the worst ones (bottom of the list).
- LG Sciences Cold Fusion EX
- Advanced Muscle Science Hyper Pump
- MuscleTech NaNO Vapor
- BSN NO-Xplode
- S.A.N. Fierce
- Syntrax Nitrous
- Higher Power NO-XS
- Dymatize Xpand
- VPX NO Shotgun
- ISS Research Satur8
Although a beta-alanine supplement and not technically a nitric oxide supplement, I included Advanced Muscle Science Hyper Pump on this list because it is a pump inducing supplement and fulfills the same goals as NO supplements and does so extremely well for sure!
After using both Hyper Pump as well as LG Sciences Cold Fusion EX, I am compelled to believe that beta alanine supplements are superior to nitric oxide supplements for the one primary goal NO products have which is to produce pumps during workouts.
Below I will go through product claims and give my opinions on each one as well as a number of other considerations that a supplement consumer should be concerned with when making purchases.
"Nitric Oxide, a key molecule manufactured by the body, causes vasodilation (an expansion of the internal diameter of blood vessels), which in turn leads to increased blood flow, oxygen transport, and delivery of nutrients to skeletal muscle. An amino acid compound called arginine alpha-ketoglutarate (A-AKG) and arginine-ketoisocaproate (A-KIC) can boost short term Nitric Oxide levels."
The ingredients in NoX2 are found in other NO products and generally do get reports for being effective, as it is at the current time of this writing, I consider beta alanine products to be the superior pump producing products on the market and plan to try plenty of them out in the time to come as you will see with increased reviews on this website.
As it is, I do agree with the above statement, that being the active components of NoX2 do indeed produce the desired effect, as a general rule, if they are present in NO products.
"Increased strength and markedly improved stamina can also be expected."

NoX2 usually had one of two effects on me: either it worked pretty well and was slightly above average, or had no noticeable effects. I admit, that this product working well does depend on nutrition (proper intake of macronutrients such as carbohydrates both the day of and days prior to consumption of NoX2) as well as proper intake of water (it is extremely import to remain adequately hydrated).
I will say that I definitely noticed marked improvements on some days, but just not as consistently as I would have liked - in other words, not every day, which would have been nice.
"In fact, the results may be classified into three categories:
- The promotion of an extended pump
- Signaling muscle growth and speeding recovery
- Increasing strength and stamina."
I would tend to agree that NoX2 delivered on all of these categories, but once again, it wasn't as consistent as I wished it to be which was in part my fault for not minding my diet and water intake more carefully. I will concede that my training was very adequate during the entire course of my use of NoX2.
I do admit that I did not always take the NoX2 exactly as recommended because I am turned off by the idea of taking six huge horse pills every day, and that may have contributed to why the supplement did not work for me exactly as it was supposed to.

"Furthermore, Pinnacle utilizes the exclusive A-DS Advanced delivery system in NoX2 which spikes absorption of the active compound to insure uptake and help sustain the powerful vasodilation effects of A-AKG and A-KIC around the clock."
The concept of NO products working around the clock is a relatively new one, since a large sum of the NO market consists of products which deliver fast, effective, and quick acting results.
Gaspari Nutrition PlasmaJet is another pump producing product which states similar goals. Granted, PlasmaJet is an N-Acetyl Cysteine product, and not a nitric oxide product, but they both serve the same purpose. I do not agree that NoX2 delivered the 24/7 result as they say it is supposed to, and I have had NO and other pump producing products do a better job at that.
"Advanced Delivery System (A-DS) optimizes (A-AKG) and (A-KIC) in the body. Through a bioactive process, Beta Cyclodextrin, Cephalins, Xanthum and Inulin are combbined with NoX2 to form a unique blended complex, which acts as the "carrier" for the NoX2 "cargo" helping it to be effectively transported throughout the body and delivered directly into the bloodstream."
Generally, when products make scientific claims, I demand scientific proof of it. In this case, a scientific process is defined, but with no reference to further discuss this process, which would be helpful. It should also be pointed out that the word "combined" is spelled "combbined" in the blurb above, and when you see spelling mistakes in the product information of advertisements, you should question if this same standard carries over into the quality of the product itself. [Editor's Note: The misspelling has been corrected.]
"This process also serves as an extended release mechanism, keeping target tissues saturated with more consistent levels of desired nutrients and extending benefits (over a 10 hour period) long after other supplements have been spent or wasted."
Once again, I don't really think this product is as long lasting as it claims to be. On the days which I found it to work very well, I only noticed these effects during my workout, with little notice during any other time. As it is, I have tried numerous NO and other pump inducing supplements, and while some did carry over its effects throughout the day, I didn't feel that NoX2 was one of them which did.
Other Attributes Of NoX2:
Directions: Take 3 tablets twice daily - once in the morning on an empty stomach and 1/2 hour prior to lunch. To maximize results, drink at least 64 ounces of water daily while using NoX2.
The problem with NoX2 as well as many other NO products (Higher Power NO-XS for example) is that they require you to swallow three huge horse pills, sometimes more than once each day. This is the case with NoX2.
I don't have a problem swallowing pills, but it does get a little annoying to swallow such huge pills and so many of them. The alternative is to drink nitric oxide powder mixed in water or another fluid which almost always tastes terrible.
I admire BSN NO-Xplode for being one of the few NO supplements which I can actually say I looked forward to drinking. When it comes to NO drinks, I normally look for the one which tastes the LEAST BAD (as opposed to the MOST GOOD).
I rate the taste of NO products on the basis of how bearable they are to drink! They all have a distinct NO taste, which some mask better than others. I do wish there could be a situation which neither requires the consumption of huge horse pills nor the consumption of awful tasting drinks. As it is, products like that are pretty rare in the NO marketplace.
There are numerous considerations which I would have to consider when I review an NO supplement. I must point out once again that the format for
NoX2 are horse pills, so if you have a problem swallowing pills then perhaps this product is not one for you.
After that is pointed out, the two other things I should discuss here is effectiveness and cost. I considered NoX2 to be an effective NO product, but only marginally so. I would have to say it was about average in comparison to other NO products which I have tried. I would perhaps go further and classify it to be on the higher end of average, but I would not say it is above average, and I can definitely point out better NO products which I have tried.
I did feel it was effective, but not consistently, and I do not agree with product claims which state that it works in a long term capacity. I felt that it was fast acting and generally speaking, only displayed its effects in the gym during workouts. All in all, it was not a bad supplement and it was worth trying out, but it did not knock my socks off by any means.
You can get a 15 day supply of 90 tablets for $19.99, and a 30 day supply of 180 tablets for $33.95. That works out to $1.33 per day and $1.13 per day respectively.
This is a pretty reasonable price for an NO product, although it is about even and on par with its respective quality in my opinion. In other words, I do feel that the price matches the quality, but since the product itself is nothing special to me, neither is the price.
You get what you pay for I suppose, so with that in mind, the more you are willing to pay, the higher quality you should expect on average perhaps. I am not entirely sure that is the case though, but I will agree that the above average price for Advanced Muscle Science Hyper Pump is in line with the price of $2.42 per serving.
So depending on your budget, you will wish to select a product that meets your needs. By all means, if you are on a more limited budget, I would recommend NoX2 without question. It is not a bad product, simply average or high average in my opinion. It was worth using and I look forward to now trying a new NO supplement and reporting back.
NoX2 By Pinnacle
Review By Michael S
NoX2 by Pinnacle, or as I call it, "The Giant" may in fact be the largest pill I have ever had to swallow for such little gains. The nitric oxide is meant to increase the size of your blood vessels, allowing for increased blood flow, oxygen transfer and delivery of nutrients to skeletal muscle.
The product itself contains arginine-ketoglutarate, an amino acid that breaks down in the body with the help of enzymes to produce nitric oxide gas, which is used by the body to communicate with other cells.
This particular nitric oxide product has one more slip up its sleeve that it 'promises:' an advanced delivery system that is meant to enhance the absorption, allowing it to be effectively transported throughout the body and delivered directly into the blood stream. You should also feel the benefits for a period of over 10 hours which, in my opinion, does not even seem believable, especially after trying the NoX2. The nitric oxide as they say may (or in my case, may not) increase your strength, stamina and muscle growth.
I myself have tried taking it many different ways. On my first attempt, I simply followed the instructions. I consumed 3 giants (or should I say, pills) upon waking up with an empty stomach, which I found to be very difficult. Having to wake up and swallow something the size of the end of your finger is not for beginners.
Roughly 4 hours later I took another 3 pills 30 minutes prior to my lunch as mentioned. When I got home, I was feeling more tired than usual. This was not the greatest first impression of the product, but I figured I would try it for a few more days to give it a chance, due to the possibility of a sort of loading phase.
The next day, I attempted to take it 30 minutes before my supper, but unfortunately, once again, I experienced terrible results at the gym. After days of intolerable results from the NoX2, I finally decided to try taking the pills before my workout, which usually takes place at around 6 o'clock. Something wonderful happened that time, though; something that did not happen the rest of the week: I realized that I was never going to finish the bottle.
The product seemed counter-productive for me. The cost of it, however, is quite cheap, at only 20 dollars for 90 pills. It is worth a try for anyone who wants to get a nice build or even for people who just want to try a nitric oxide product.
For 20 dollars, if it works well for you, it will be of great value. I felt terrible on my leg-workout day; I could only squat 80% of what I would usually squat for reps. It obviously did not work well for me. The biggest effect I obtained from this product was feeling alert and awake in the morning. I cannot, however, say that nitric oxide products are terrible.
I have tried other brands, and I must admit that they had significant effects on me. I felt more awake, stronger and recovered more quickly than usual. In any case, remember: similar to all other supplements that are taken, do not forget an overdose is still possible, so follow the amount that is suggested.
Overall, I would probably rate this product at about 4 out of 10. You may experience some slight effects which are not very noticeable during a workout.
As I mentioned earlier, do not exclude a nitric oxide product from your list of supplements, but I would highly suggest buying small amounts, or even taking samples if possible to find out what works well for you. If like me, you find one that works amazingly well, you will be lifting heavier, running faster and playing harder than ever before.
