 Why I Got Started
There were a couple of reasons why I got started. I looked in the mirror and was repulsed by what I saw. How could I, working in the health care field and giving out health advice, be taken seriously when I was in worse shape than my patients?
My other reason for wanting a change was that I always told myself I was going to compete in a bodybuilding competition before I turned 40, and the date was rapidly approaching.

 How I Did It
It was the 2006 Emerald Cup in Washington when it all changed for me. I met Bob Cicherillo at the Bodybuilding.com booth. He took extra time to answer my questions and encouraged me to join BodySpace.
From there, my eyes were opened to a whole world of like-minded individuals. From the articles, to the forum, to the helpful staff, to the store, and most importantly from the people I've met on here, I have learned volumes.

Eventually I found my perfect trainer, who has guided me to steady improvements, Tom Fuller and I also have the wonderful opportunity of being an online Rep for Universal Nutrition.

 Suggestions For Others
Don't use age as an excuse. I'm in my 40s and in better shape than my 20s. If you fall off the wagon, get right back up, dust yourself off, and get back into the gym! There's always an opportunity for improvement around every corner.
