Marty Gallagher is a renaissance man in the world of weight training. He is an accomplished powerlifter where some of his accolades include being a 7-time national master powerlifting champion and 5-time world master powerlifting champion.

As a coach, Marty led a team from Black's Gym to 5 national championships. In addition, he was also the co-coach of the 1991 USA world powerlifting championship team.
Finally, as a writer, Marty has penned articles for the Washington Post, Muscle & Fitness, and Powerlifting USA as well as writing what has been called the best book on powerlifting ever written, "Coan: The Man, The Myth, The Method."

In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients and set to low heat. Cover and let cook for 8 to 9 hours. Stir and remove to serving bowls. This method works best if started before you go to bed. This way your oatmeal will be finished by morning. Makes 3 servings.
