Cassandra Forsythe received her B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science and an M.S. in Human Nutrition and Metabolism from the University of Alberta, CA. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in the area of exercise science and nutrition under the guidance of Dr. Jeff Volek. As an author, Cassandra's articles can be found in many of the major fitness publications including, but not limited to, Men's Health, T-Nation, and FitnessRx. Currently, Cassandra is writing a book in conjunction with famed author, Lou Schuler, entitled "Lift Like a Man, Look Like a Goddess."
Slow Cooker Beef With Root Vegetables Ingredients: Directions: Arrange onion, potatoes, carrots, turnip, and rutabaga in bottom of slow cooker. Season chicken all over with salt and black pepper. Place chicken on top of vegetables in slow cooker. Whisk together tomato sauce, honey, chili powder, cumin, mustard powder, and garlic powder. Pour mixture over chicken. Cover and cook on low heat for 12 hours or on high heat for 8 hours. Makes 3 servings. *Denotes change in recipe. **Flour was also removed from original recipe.
