FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The new 70,000 square-foot facility houses a multi-million dollar automated conveyor system and rack equipment, along with state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System software (for quality control).
With an average 30-40% growth in revenue each year, properly managing space and operations is essential to Bodybuilding.com's success. That's why the addition of the Pennsylvania warehouse is so important.
This location was chosen because of its proximity to FedEx hubs (Bodybuilding.com's main courier). This means they will now be able to extend their daily cut-off time to process and ship orders each day.
"Customers in the northeast can place orders at 7:00 pm EST and still have their orders processed, out the door, and possibly delivered the next day, depending on their location. We are increasing the amount of people we can reach in one day by more than 60 million, and we'll have an average transit time throughout northeast of 1-2 days," explains Bodybuilding.com's General Operations Manager Josh Brouse. The new warehouse will officially begin shipping an estimated 2,000 orders per day starting on March 5, 2008. "We are very excited about the addition of our Pennsylvania warehouse, but we don't plan on stopping there. We are constantly looking at different avenues to increase service levels for our customers, and will continue to look at new areas of opportunity for our domestic and international customers," says Brouse.
