I woke up one morning and discovered that I was unhappy with who I was. I knew I was unhealthy, but it never really bothered me for some reason. Like turning on a light, I decided I wanted to make a change. I began working out, eating better and focusing on the future. There were times I thought I couldn't go any further, but I kept pushing. Now, I see that anything is possible and I can make any change I feel necessary.
I began working out and sticking to a better diet. Before I got started, I ate a lot of junk food and didn't work out. One day, I realized that I could be in better shape if I changed my eating habits and pushed myself a little.
Before, I would eat a lot of sugar, bread and pasta. I didn't cut out any of the foods that I loved, but I eat them now in moderation. I don't eat fried foods, I stick to healthier food and eat more salads and vegetables. I also eat more chicken and fish and less pork and beef.
I am in the gym 5 to 6 days a week, usually Monday through Saturday. I start by lifting at least 45 minutes each day. I alternate between exercising different body parts on different days. I also do at least 30 minutes of cardio each day, which may include running, jump rope or other exercises. Starting off, I could not run over a quarter of a mile without stopping. Now, I can run up to three miles easily.
Never doubt yourself. Never take no for an answer. I was told I couldn't make a transformation. I even doubted myself. One day, I realized that I could do anything I put my mind to and more. Even starting off slow and building over 5 years, it's possible to make a transformation for the better and change your life.
