I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the ad about you in the current Men's Health magazine. I saw the before picture (which looks very similar to me) and the after picture, and I can't believe the transformation. I immediately went to the Bodybuilding.com website to read your story and recommendations.
The next day I started with your eating recommendations and ordered the supplements. That was 10 days ago. I have already lost over 15 pounds and can't believe it. I step on the scale 3-4 times per day just to make sure I read it right. Thanks again. Your story was very inspirational to me.

As I told you in my last email, I really picked up the intensity and have been really focused and full of energy. It has finally paid off!
I mean I still have about 15-20 lbs to go, but now I know I will get their. There is no more doubting or stressing, I know it's just a matter of time. I really feel good about myself again.. I know I thank you every time I write you, but you really have been a huge lift to me. I never met you or even spoke to you, but you have been such an inspiration. I really appreciate all your time and the fact that you cared and were there to listen and offer advice. I know you will have a good life just from all the positive karma you must create for yourself. Just know you made a difference in MY life.
Thanks again, a friend for life,
Jerry
That's amazing how you turned your life around with one decision. It just proves that if you stick to it you can do anything. I have/had some type of an eating disorder. I was very picky about the foods I chose and would only eat junk, if anything. I was very skinny, very underweight. Then I saw what you did, and I decided to turn my life around. I now do pushups, sit-ups, curls, and more right when I get home from school, and I am eating normal foods now. I have gained 40 pounds in the last 6 months. Thanks so much for showing me that people can change their life around. You've re-directed my course of life. Thank you.
I've read lots of your articles on Bodybuilding.com. I have started to turn my life around in January. I'm 22 yrs old, 6' 1", and weighed 250. I found a running partner (my girlfriend now), and started running a mile a day, then it turned into 2.
![]() Now I'm running 6 miles a day. So of course I've lost weight like crazy. Right now I'm at 215. I look pretty good.
I think I am on my way to looking like you, (lol) hopefully sometime soon. I also started out pretty big (220 lbs at 6'0"). Almost there thanks to you, I am now at 188lbs.
Thanks again and keep up the good work,
Vic
I began delivering pizza, eating really shitty foods at the restaurant I worked for, being lethargic in general, and I also began smoking cigarettes. Well, I am a senior in college now, and I've changed my eating habits, quit my smoking habit, and become very workout-intensive, in part to reading your story, which rekindled a motivation for myself that I forgot about years ago; namely my focus on my own goals.
I'm 6' and have dropped from 220lbs to 195 in the past couple months through cardio 5 days a week and lifting 4 days a week.
God bless you.
How have you been? I've been good while working out and listening to you. This has helped me lose 10 or more lbs. Life couldn't be better, thank you for everything. P.S. I had enough courage to ask a girl out on a date from church finally. She looks pretty good I must say. She is about 5' 4" 110 lbs, nice face, good looking body. I never thought I would go on a date with a pretty girl.

I just read your article in Bodybuilding.com. You know I'm kinda chubby but I really have the desire to change. I just didn't have the motivation to do it. I think I just found that motivation. This is the only thing in my life I haven't accomplished, to feel good about myself. I have read what you went through, and I think it's time for me to give myself a chance for a better life. Thank you and I hope to see more articles from you in the future.
I admire you all the way, its amazing how you went from being a bullied overweight guy (no offence) to a sexy muscular woman magnet. Just by reading your advices and tips I've learned a lot so I just want to take some time and truly thank you!
Cause you mostly find people wasting away their life and not trying to be as good and perfect as they have the ability to be, but your one of the coolest guys!
Keep it up big dude. Warm regards,
Johan

Thanks,
Aaron
Although I am not obese, I once was and know what it feels like. I'm 20, with a lot of muscle, with slightly visible but very well-developed abs but have a problem with fat loss. After reading your stuff, I switched and workout 6 days a week I have gained a lot of muscle. Your diet sounds great but I still haven't gotten round to it yet.
Thank-you,
Yohan from India

You might not remember, but I emailed you a couple months ago, telling you about how you motivate me and things like that. Well just wanted to give you a quick update. When I emailed you, I told you I was around 310 pounds. Well the shock was quite large, when I hopped on the scale at 362. Well since then, I am now down to 318, and feeling great! The past two and a half months, I have lost a good amount of weight, added a lot of muscle, and starting to feel really good about myself. Every now and then I feel like I might loose it, but then I just read your thread, and all that motivation, and determination just rushes back to me. The hardest thing I am battling now is food. I love to workout now, and I love to lift, and do cardio, and all that good stuff, but I am so sick of tuna, and chicken. Every now and then, I will go to the store, and pick up some of the extra lean beef, the 4% stuff, and have a burger on whole wheat bread, but that doesn't happen very often. I'm sure you went through this. Are there any tips you can give me? Maybe recipes or something? The past two times I ate a can of tuna, I thought I was going to gag it back up. I use to love tuna! Ha-ha. I am still very determined, and I will choke down cans of tuna if I have to, but I wouldn't mind some alternate solutions, if you have any. As of right now, my workout plan is sitting like this.
Every other day I do an hour of cardio in the morning, half an hour in the evening. On the days in between the cardio, I rotate arms, and chest. On some of the cardio nights, I do shoulder and back. On my arms and chest days, I still get up in the morning, and do half an hour of cardio. I have one rest day a week. Well thanks for listening, just wanted to hit you with an update, and thank you once again, for being a great motivational tool for me.
How's it going man? Just wanted to write you again, give you a little update and a story... Someone at work asked me today what my motivation has been. I thought about it for a moment, and told them that it would be easier for me to show them to explain it to them. I went to the forums, pulled up your picture, and showed them. They thought the 70 some odd pounds I had lost was amazing, but you were just truely outstanding. I gave them your story, showed them some more stories, and then told them that I will look like that one day. A little update from me. Last email I was at 318, I am now at around 290. The weight is still coming off pretty damn good, and I am staying on track. I have discovered that I enjoy getting up and running at the park. At this point I cannot run more then a mile to a mile and a half at a time, but each time I do it, it pushes me to push myself further. I will not be a failure. I ran my first ever mile under 10 minutes. Now most people look at that, and are like "wow that's slow nick," but they don't understand that a guy my size doesn't run a very fast mile. I was pretty proud of that. It's about 2-3 minutes faster than I had ran just a month ago.
I want to tell ya about last night, and I'm doing it because I am selfish, and if there is anyone that can relate to this, and understand how great it feels, I know its you. With my weight loss, and ability to shop at new stores, I now shop mostly at Express. So my appearance has went from fat and bad dresser, to big guy, dresses good. Well last night my sister and I headed downtown for a new years eve party at a club. A couple of her friends met us down there. Well I ended up hooking up with one of them, and this chick is pretty damn good looking. Well before her and I started really getting nasty on the dance floor and making out and shit, I was eyeballing this girl, probably a 6/7, but still out of my league before. We made good eye contact, so I decided to make a move. As I'm walking over to her, she looks over at me and smiles, and starts signaling for me to come over. So I go and start up some conversation, mostly just funny shit. She ends up kissing me right there. I was like wow that shit never happened to me. So I finish up my conversation with her, and head over to where my sister and her friends were. Well this chick is hanging out at the bar with her friends, and I needed another drink. I head up to the bar, and we meet up again, and she's kinda hugging me, just generally being on me. So as I start to leave her, I pointed at her and was saying something, she took my finger in her mouth, and started sucking it. Wow! I'm just thinking, 6 months ago, this would have never happened to me. She was definitely not my type, but it's just amazing how much changing your appearance, and being confident gets you. This is probably confusing, so just to clarify, this wasn't even the chick I hooked up with. Also the other girl that was with my sister, told me that a lot of girls who work with my sister, think I'm hot. Never had that happen before either.
Let me start by thanking you for the educational article you posted in Bodybuilding.com. I have been following it for 3 months and already I have gone down and bulked up substantially. It kicked me in the ass bro and I really appreciate your insight into your life and how you turn it around.
Regards,
I just wanted to send you a quick email to say congratulations and thanks. I have referred a few of my clients over to your pages and they have found them to be very motivational. It is not until you see someone else go through the journey that you realize and believe that it is possible.
So thanks again for inspiring these guys and showing them it is possible!
Health and Happiness,
Kristi
Again, thanks for the inspiration. I wish there were more stories like that from people who weren't trying to sell me something.
Joe
Great articles on Bodybuilding.com. I have to say your transformation has been a big motivating factor for me. I also think the pictures of you w/ hot girls helped motivate people! I've gone from 253 in May to ~ 200 today. I have about 25 lbs. to drop and I've increased my strength dramatically.
Keep up the articles!
Jim
Hi Mr. Louis, I was searching the Bodybuilding.com website and saw your profile. I'm very impressed. I have also taken note of everything that you did to get yourself to that point in your life. I have a son your age who is overweight - about 290 lbs, height is 5' 8". I myself was overweight at my age of 55yrs. I have lost 65 lbs and am now at a 187 lbs. I am encouraging my son to do the same. I will give him your article that you have on the website, and support him in any way I can. You are an inspiration; role model to the younger generation. May God bless you and keep you in good health.
Mr. Benjamin Lara,
San Antonio, Texas
