My name is Leeza DiStefano. I have been a member of
BodySpace since 2007, and I have been working out in order
to both change my lifestyle and compete on stage. Throughout
this whole journey I realized how important it is to keep
track of your progress and I am happy that Bodybuilding.com
allows me to do that. It makes me see how far I came along
over the past 3-4 years.
I recently competed in two NPC figure shows and took 5th
place in Figure B class at the NPC Suburban. I have
struggled with my weight my entire life, and I wanted to
pursue these fitness goals to better myself with confidence,
appearance, and overall well-being. In addition, I have also
pursued a career in personal training, and I am a trainer at
Midwood (Brooklyn) New York Sports Club.
I worked for Gold's Gym Howard Beach location for a year
where I have helped clients transform their bodies as well.
In addition to being a personal trainer, I am also a graphic
designer that partnered with Brandon Yawn, NPC bodybuilder
and web programmer, for our company Risa Associates, where
we do web hosting, website design, branding, packaging
design, T-shirt design, product design, marketing, Google
ads, all types of web programming and much more!
 Why I Got Started

I decided to transform my body because I wanted to
inspire others who were always challenged genetically with
weight problems. I always had a difficult time finding
jeans! My primary goal was to feel better about myself and
get excited about shopping for clothes rather than dreading
it. I used to be a size 13 in pants and now I'm a size 4-6!
I always wanted to compete ever since I picked up an
Oxygen Magazine and saw how cool it would be to be in a suit
similar to what we had when I used to be a gymnast. After
years of pursuit, I finally surrounded myself with the right
people to get me where I wanted to be with my fitness goals.
I designed my competition suit as well as my make-up. I'm a
competitor with many talents!

 How I Did It

It took me about two solid years of training and dieting
hard in order to get to this level. Now it is about tweaking
the imperfections. Like I tell my clients; it is a journey,
not a marathon. You always want to be working towards a goal
in order to keep yourself focused.
I learned that that is the only way to do it and to keep at
it. If you do not have a goal, then it is hard to visualize
the end result. I learned that it's all in the power of
visualization. When you carry something in your heart, then
you accept no excuses!

Meal 5:
I follow everything pretty rigidly based on my blood type. I
don't eat chicken or any types of red meat because my body
doesn't utilize it for an anabolic source of protein. Asparagus is great for maintaining my water weight. I tend
to carry a lot of water subcutaneously. I never ever use
Splenda or artificial sweeteners because they give my
stomach really bad trapped gas, so instead, I use only Stevia, which I have found to be great tasting and causes no
upset stomach.
