Expect to see to see me at around the same weight as last year but with WAY better conditioning. I don't care about my weight come the Ironman, I just want to be PEELED Eryk Bui told bodybuilding.com just one week out from the show he placed 8th in last year.

When Eryk's pro debut placed him in the top 10 last year he knew that his ammunition was enough to puncture the competition challenging him to a dual. "As well as I placed last year, I knew that I had the size to win at pro level. The variable that will set me apart from the behemoths of the IFBB is going to be superior conditioning. Trust me, IT WILL ALL BE THERE. Just as I was at the 2004 NPC Nationals, I will be taking care of BUI-ness once again in 2007 at the Pro Ironman.
We can only imagine what the O.C. resident has done to the term evolution in his off season. Eryk is widely known to be quite possibly be the strongest pound for pound bodybuilder on the planet and has smashed previous weights records like plates at a Greek wedding. "My off-season was AWESOME! I got my squat up to almost 800Ibs without a squat suit, knee wraps or squat belt.
My bench press improved to 550Ibs for one rep, and I got my barbell curls up to 225Ibs for reps". In a nutshell, Eryk loves lifting heavy. Eryks rule of thumb is simple. "You can either take a lot of shit or you can lift a lot of weight. Look at my physique and judge for yourself. You can't flex oil or water... you can only flex REAL and DENSE muscle" promised Bui.
Although water is the best form of fluid to hydrate the body, Eryk likes to drink a lot of coffee and tea to help maintain his diminishing energy levels. An entertaining habit Bui practices is the ritual that accompanies the act of sweetening these beverages. He like his tea and coffee very sweet so he will ad three pinks (Sweet-n-low) and three blues (NutraSweet) to every 16-20oz serving.
Why does he do this? Because he keeps updated on medical research! "I keep reading about all these so-called scientists and medical experts debating about which one will kill you the quickest. They are constantly changing their minds about the two. I figured instead of utilizing one specifically, my chances are 50/50 if I go half and half...get the picture" laughed Bui.
Another focus that many bodybuilders of the last 30 years lack in practice is running. Our subject of the day is an exception to this rule and has been frequently reported to sprint on the treadmill much to the surprise of onlookers. Bui starts his sprints when weighing at 220Ibs.
When you consider that he is only 5'5" the sight I should imagine is as entertaining as watching Puff Daddy assist with lambing season on an English farm. Eryk like to run for 15 minutes at 8 mph and then sprint for the last two at 12 mph. He loves running and it gets him into fantastic shape, so why not?
Eryks tone of voice tells me he is as serious as the Godfather and anyone who said that he maybe washed up can be sure he will be the dirtiest bodybuilder in sight.
