This all started back in September of 2003 when I realized that I couldn't eat ice cream every night anymore without getting fat. So I had my wife take a picture of me just standing in our living room. Wow, it looks worse on camera than it does in the mirror! But I knew that was just a point of reference for what I had planned. I've always been very "athletic". I played sports growing up; I was starting varsity football linebacker; ran miles and miles, etc... you get the point.
But as life goes for most of us, circumstances get in the way, or so we think. Getting married and having kids, while trying to establish myself in the business world was no easy task! My body paid for it! Now, I wish I could say that ever since I "started" in September of '03 that I kept it up the whole time. No, that's just the first pic I took. Really, like most people, I got all pumped about "getting" in shape and it was kind of off and on for a while until September of 2006.
Ever since then, I've been going non stop and really applied myself to learn the nutrition side of things. I don't "diet". I have a "diet". It's just my lifestyle. It took me a while to figure out that how I ate was a huge part of it - not just working out! I've learned a lot from Bodybuilding.com and BodySpace. Being able to see others transform their body is a ton of motivation for me!
I eat 6-7 meals per day and try to take in about 250-300 grams of protein a day and my carbs vary between 150-300 grams per day. I try to keep fat minimal, only eating "good fats".

I mix it up a lot to keep my body guessing. Also, I do abs 4-5 days a week and cardio mixed in from time to time, depending of if I'm cutting or bulking.
