I want to try this program but, can't get to the gym everyday. I would only be able to go 3 days a week... how would I do this program? Would I just keep doing the 2 at home workouts (the push and pull ones)? Or would I stretch out the program longer (meaning it would be more than 12 weeks for completion).

once you get into phase 2, you definitely need to be at the gym. The workouts are HARD if you challenge yourself on the machines. and you're there 6 days a week.

I have the same concern. I can't always make it to the gym 5 or 6 days a week. I was also going to stretch the program out longer. I'm curious to know what you decided to do and if it worked out for you?

Thanks :)

What types of equipment am I going to need to do this? I don't own anything like dumbells, resistance bands, and I don't live anywhere close to a gym... I don't want to start this and not be able to do half of the workouts=/ I'm going to college in a week, should I just wait until then and use their facilities?

Sorry Jayem. Looks like you're out of luck. I did phase 1 from home with 3 different sets of dumbbells and it was hard enough. For phase 2, I've gone back the the gym. You definitely can't do it without. Wait til you start college. It will be less of a headache and much more fun!

Jamie, I know you're probably enjoying your honeymoon right now, but if you read this, please comment. I'm about half way through the program, and while I've noticed a change in the amount of weight I can lift, and I can see some definition starting to show (very little), I haven't lost any weight. I'm 5'9" and 150 lbs, so really don't have much to lose, just fat to burn and muscles to gain. Should I be noticing more of a difference or am I just being impatient?

Hey gals and guys. :) Starting this program tomorrow and I am super excited yet nervous. I work out consistently but I eat poorly so all I have been able to do is manage my weight. I would like to shed these last 10lbs. Although I am not willing to give up my cardio, I am hoping the program will still be a success. I enjoy spin class and I don't want to stop it! I wish you guys and gals much success on your journey and I hope that we can motivate each other throughout the process. :) LETS WORKOUT!

I'm on Phase 3 week 7 I follow the program to a T and i feel like i'm not getting any definition.

is 1300 calories suppose to be net calories or calories consumed?

Also, i feel like i'm actually loosing muscle I already had. I don't take the BCAA and the Glutamin should I?

I want to start the LiveFit program, but I already do 40-45mins of cardio with or without doing weights that day (400-450cals ea session). Can I still do cardio during Phase 1? I don't want to gain the weight back! Cardio is a staple in my daily life.
Thanks!

If your eating correctly you wont gain bad weight. The purpose of the first two months is to gain a lot of muscle. I'm a runner too, it was extremely hard for me to think not to run. But I do about a 10 min HITT warm up and when i'm on like days ( non- arms) I would do like 10 mins more of HITT after.
I'm almost to phase 3 and I wish I would have done it her way, because the purpose is to gain MUSCLE! and if your running 45 mins. you are decreasing your muscle tone.

I am a distant runner and I have plans to start your program after my 1/2 marathon is complete in November. I notice that your phase 1 does not have a lote of cardio included. Am I ok with continuing my normal 4 day running routine while in the first phase? I typically run 4 to 5 miles 3 x a week and 7 to 13 on a Saturday

Hey, so I just started this program and am on day five of my first week. It states in her workout plan that you should only do 3 reps of 12, but after doing the first week of the program like that i am a little sore, but when im doing the workout it doesnt feel like i am getting a work out; it almost feels too short. So i was wondering should i add more sets in there, becuase if i leave it as 3 sets and add more weight i dont want to be gaining bulky muscle. Or should i just do more reps? Or should i just suck it up and follow it like how she has written it? help please.

I eat: 4 egg whites and a whole wheat tortilla for breakfast, slim fast shake for lunch (I DO NOT reccomend slimfast but in my job i dont get breaks so i have to make due) and vegetables and chicken or a PB&J for dinner, with veggies and citrus as snack throughout the day. I take the Fat Loss Stack from this site and man it is amazing! Assault is great and doesnt taste as bad as most, i love the gourmet chocolate flavored Whey by ISO 100. I hope this helps anyone who needs it, i am so motivated today and I hope you all are too! Good luck this week, make it count!

I definitely cheated, as I ride horses 1-2 times a week and ran once a week on rest days. I still wholeheartedly believe you do NOT need the cardio the first month, but part of this Phase 1, I believe, is getting into a routine and getting used to going to the gym. Also, if someone is pretty out of shape, building that muscle first is more important than killing yourself on a treadmill.

Oh! And try to lift a little more weight, or take less time between reps to give you that "circuit" feeling of heart rate being up and feeling like the workout is more intense. :)

Quick weight loss info, I got preggers at 205, @ delivery was 234, post partum visit 193, 175 few weeks later started Jamie's program Sept 27. Went to 168. Up to 173. Freaked out about 5 pound gain. Hubby said muscle weighs more than fat! So stoked about the program. Love the discipline. I don't have the 20 or 30 something body anymore, so my journey I believe will be different. I'm at the end of week 2. LOVE the results thus far! I am sore, but gradually getting toned, and building muscle. Looking forward to the end results. People at work expect me to return from maternity leave looking like Jabba the

Since you are just starting, your first week will be alot of learning what works for you. How much weight will depend on where you are currently. I bulk up if I lift heavy, as I used to do that. You can definitely lift more than you think without bulking up, however.
Also, the plan will not work if you don't push yourself. I believe somewhere for Phase 1 it says to start at about 65% of your "max". Phase 1 is all about building muscle, so you want to use it for that. I have friends that are now doing this because of how well it worked for me, but some are disappointed bc they went and curled 3 pounds for 3 months-not gonna work that way. But, I digress-ultimately, you will want to go in and start light. If the first set is too easy, go up more in weight than you normally would with each set, then next week start at a higher weight because you know you can. DEFINITELY keep track of your weight, reps, etc as you work out. When I finished 3 sets I used to do an up arrow at then end of each box in the sheet if I should use more weight the next week or a flat line if I should stay there until I get that muscle stronger, or even a down arrow if I ended up maxing out before I was done with the reps. Good Luck!!!

Okay the FemaleSpartan is starting. I was at 287 lbs and now I weight 180 lbs. I did mostly cardio and serious low cal eating. Yet, my skin is starting to flab and although I am glad that I am getting back into my old clothes, I want to be and look stronger not just get thinner. So, I made up my mind today that I want my transformation!! I don't want to look as I did ten years ago...I want to look better than I did ten years ago!!! Good luck to every one!!!!

Hello everyone,

I'm starting the program and I was wondering if is there a way to automatically add this program into my bodyspace or do I have to do enter all the workouts manually one by one.

Thanks

I started this program yesterday but I'm finding that all of her recipes are getting very costly! Any suggestions on how to stick with the program with a very low budget?

I have decided I am going to try to do this workout/meal plan because I feel awful in my own skin these days. I had a 2nd son after 20 years when I turned 40 & it's been really hard as a single mom to get healthy again but I can't make excuses anymore, I just have to do it. It's going to be tough but I'm going to come to this site and ask for the support that I need. I am going to start tomorrow. Wish me luck everyone!

Good luck! Hope things are going well. I'm almost done with Phase 1 and it is working! Talk about sore muscles! You've picked the right program, just stick with it and follow it as best you can and you will see results.

I've started to lift weights about 3 months ago plus daily aerobics and 20 mins cardio 6 times per week. I put some muscle but not much. The biggest challenge is nutrition which I started to follow very precisely. However these 3x12 sets seem too easy. I stopped doing aerobics and cardio and I leave the gym after 1 hrs feeling not tired at all. There's hardly a challenge. Maybe, I lift too light? (Well it says 60%..) Am I doing it right?

Ill Be starting tonight. I tried it before but I wasn't really good at keeping up with the meal plan. I also felt constantly tired not sure if was because my muscles weren't recovering or because I forced my body. Anyone have tips on how I should go about getting started.
