Time to get rid of the blanket! I used to be 173lbs and I am 112 right now. You can do it and it is well worth it. I just started this program to loose the remaining pounds I want and gain more muscle. One step at a time and just don't get discouraged keep pushing no matter what!

Doing what you can and just making sure you push youself to grow is great!! Even if it can't be EXACTLY as listed, that's fine as long as YOU know your intensity is pushing a little more past what you couldn't do yesterday, everyday. Rock on darlin!!

I'm also up at 5AM and usually eat 1/2 cup oatmeal with berries. After my workout, around 7:30AM, I'll eat egg whites and drink 1/2 a protein shake. I find this particulary helpful because I'm short on time first thing in the morning and I'm not use to eating so much. Hope that helps.

Hey I'm going to start this program on Sunday. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for protein for vegetarians because she lists a lot of meat. I'm usually good with getting enough protein but up until now I have mostly just been running. I know weight training is different so I want to make sure I'm getting enough protein and not just tofu. Any suggestions?

I'm on day 69 today!! After this, only two weeks to go! I'm grateful for this program as it has helped me lose about 30lbs!! (mind you I started working out at the gym ab a month 1/2 befire I picked up this program). I think I lost so much bc I really changed my eating habits early on. I might have lost more, but I haven't weighed myself in a while. It gets harder in Phase II and Phase III is a killer for real. When you start supersets and triple sets, you really feel the burn. My advice - take the Phase's seriously. Get that muscle gain in Phase I

Thanks for the support guys!! @ glmcfarland - always to cardio after your weight training. If you do it before you could fatigue your muscles too soon and they won't last throughout your training. That's the advice I was given and they say it on this site too.

Are you eating the recommended small meals or snacks? If not, you should def eat them or go for the shake 2times. Like Jamie says, you need the fuel to build the muscle to burn the fat. If you haven't tried the turkey muffins or homemade protein bars, make some. They are delish, easy to carry around. I find them much more satisfying than the shake.

Probably actually gain a little because muscle weighs more than fat. you should consider taking your measurments and taking pictures. It really helps.

I am sooo please with this program. My hubby and I are doing it together and we have completed phase 1. next week will start phase 2. I did find for ourselves that doing these exercises twice in one week to be hard. Tried legs twice in one week and they were way to sore. so this week we are doing chest and triceps twice. I am really impressed with the results though in the first 4 weeks. looking forward to phase 2. The one thin we are doing is we are cycling through the exercises and doing them in three sets circuit wise. I really like it because we are out of the gym and feeling good and worked.

I am planning on starting this on Monday (March 4)...do I have to stop running? I'm a runner... I usually run three or four days a week, not necessarily for weight loss, but rather to keep it up for races that I choose to do (i.e I have run a marathon and a half marathon in the past two weeks and I'm possibly doing another half on April 1). I'm not sure if this is the right program for me for that reason. I eat clean and I weight train, but I'm looking to up my weight training to five days a week (from three)

I have never had any upper body strength (which will change this year ;) ) so yesterdays workouts was a challenge and I have that love-it-hate it soreness in my arms. I can't do a proper push up yet but I wasn't embarrassed. I walked in that gym determined and everyone else can kiss it. lol

I am on week three day five today, and I am getting a little discouraged. My weight is staying the same, and I am not visually noticing any change! I have been sticking to the eating program as best as I can, if anything I am failing to eat as much as Jamie suggests; but for the most part I am. Anyhow, I am just curious if this is normal at this point of the program? Any advice?

why do one arm tricep extensions and one arm reverse grip tricep pushdowns appear to be the same thing in the video clips? Is there something different about them that I'm not noticing?

HA!! I'm wondering the same darn thing. I start Day 43 on Apr 2nd. I'm thinking (maybe) she didn't want the "reverse" in the one-arm pushdowns. plus I've noticed a lil difference in the exercises when I print the PDF version.

I mix my egg whites with 1/4 cup quinoa, 5 asparagus, a tablespoon of flax oil and a bit of pepper and they are delicious. All are things that she recommended are good to eat. Just try mixing things together and they won't taste so bad!

Okay..i posted a comment earleir on that apparently didn't go through or got deleted :/
I haven't started this program yet, but I need some advice on what I should do about the protein content in this plan.
I'm a 22yr old man, and had a kindey transplant when i was 15. and a few other medical problems. I have about a year and a half of gym experiance under my belt. However, I never lost any bodyfat and didn't feel like I was making much of a change, so I eventually quit. My diet is not good at al, I don't eat regularly, and I hardly get any excercise.
I can eat anything I want, I have pretty much cut out suger from my diet and I did this ages ago. I just don't eat right or enough.

I'm on medication as well, and I do have high blood pressure. I hate my body due to all the crap I've had pumped into it like my drugs and surgery.
I've also devloped a real problem with my body, and want to change it and myself for the better.

I can already do any excersise program, I've already checked with my doctor. I just have to make sure I don't over do it and burn myself out, which I have done before and felt very bad afterwards.

Anyway, I just want somone's advice as to what I should do about the protein intake as I only have one working kidney.
I'm on prednisone, which is an anti inflammatory steriod for my kidney. I'm on 5 mg dose everyday, which is quite low. But I'm not sure if I will be able to shift the fat :(

But I'm optimistic, If i finally start eating right, and regularly, along with working out, I should hopefully see some big changes shouldn't I? :)

Hopefully somone will be able to offer me some advice.
thank you.

Hi, have you asked your doctor about what proteins would be good for you to ingest or have you taken the program to your doctor? That may be a great place to start or a nutritionist that can write something specifically for you. I would also email bodybuilding.com, i have written them for advice as well. Good luck

Make all your food for the week in one day and store in containers so you wont cheat on the diet! You must also be strong and have the right mindset i was once 235 pounds and i just worked hard so you will be good if you just try your best

Helps me if I keep the bad stuff out of the house too! And veggies are all you can eat so having those accessible is great :)

I workout at 5AM too - It's all a matter of preference, but I've found I perform much better if I eat small banana with peanut butter or a bowl of oatmeal before hitting the gym. Think of it more of as a "snack" rather than a meal :] Then post-workout protein and a healthy breakfast shortly after that - Good luck!
