[ Q ] Who was your company started by, and what sort of background do they have?

Joe Savas, former head of marketing at Met Rx and special interest sales at FSI Nutrition. After spending 15 years in the baking industry his experience in flavor techniques have been invaluable to IDS.

Nick Worrell was the former wholesale manager for EAS, national sales manager of So Cal sports supplements, FSI Nutrition and Natures Secret. Nicks background and education in chemistry and marketing have helped to forge new products for IDS and market them to the masses successfully for years.

[ Q ] Tell us about your key employees. Who is who and what do they do?

An increased advertising budget will help to show the different products IDS has to offer. With millions of people looking to improve their physique and health, education through advertising is critical.

[ Q ] If so, how have they impacted your company?

The athletes that IDS works with assist in putting a face to the company, an identity to the product. They represent what can be attained by dicipline in diet and exercise. Not only are they exceptional physical specimens, they are all intelligent and positive role models for anyone in the physique and health industry.

[ Q ] The worst?

The worst thing about the industry could very well be the same reason that the government has been coming down on the industry. Advertisements and marketing products with claims that are outrageous, naming products with drug names, and spiking products with illegal substances.

All of this has been an issue this year and has drawn increasing scrutiny on all legitimate companies like IDS Sports. Just in the past year, companies have been sued for misleading ads, magazines have finally removed ads for products, which use steroid names, and several companies have had to recall product due to having illegal drugs in them such as Clenbuterol.
