September 22nd, 2008 - On September 4th, Hurricane Ike viciously turned into a Category 4 hurricane starting in Haiti and eventually moving into the United States 6 days later, primarily in Florida and Texas. By this time, Ike had reached its peak intensity at 145mph, making it the most intense storm in the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season.
