The June Bodybuilding.com Gym of the Month is Omni-Fit, based close to our hearts in Meridian, Idaho. It's not a huge, commercial gymnasium. Jeannie Zingg and her staff are a smaller operation, with huge ambition.

Their trainers are always on the floor during hours of operation. You will always have a spotter, an instructor to teach form, and a workout partner to keep you motivated.

Omni-Fit covers everything, from weight training and agility extensions to Yoga and Zumba. It even has a separate room just for practicing competition poses.

This place is just different, more personal. And it's not just for adults! Omni-Fit caters to groups of children and individuals with their parents.

With the childhood obesity numbers skyrocketing in America, we give them much love for helping everyone live an active life!

Q
How did the gym start and why did you decide to begin (or work within) the gym business?

Fitness has always been a passion for us and it was a goal to have a gym for many years.

As a figure competitor and professional football player it has been very rewarding to know the internal confidence that comes when you feel comfortable and confident with your physical appearance.

We want to help adults and kids build a strong core inside and out.

Can you give us a description on what went into opening your awesome establishment?

We immediately demolished the old structure and expanded from 1,500 square feet to approximately 5,000 square feet. It took about two months, but it has been worth all the long nights of painting till 2 a.m! We doubled the equipment and now have room to offer classes for Yoga, Zumba and Pilates.

We added a room specifically for those who want to practice posing for Figure or Bodybuilding Competitions. We also installed indoor turf for sports training as well as rubber matting with sprint lanes for speed and agility training.

What makes your gym different?

We have a fun energetic environment and have fitness coaches on the floor at all times to assist, spot, educate and motivate. Our coaches are on the floor helping you reach your goals.

We are the only gym in the Boise valley to offer strength, speed, endurance, agility and core training for youth groups and individuals. We also offer summer camp classes for youth ages 8-and-up.

What sort of people do you attract into your gym?

People who like the feel of a smaller gym versus the big box gym come to us. Usually our clients are more focused and determined to meet their fitness goals. They enjoy our positive and fun approach to exercise.

Most of the adults comment that while the youth are separate from the adult training, they bring a nice energy to the gym. It has been such a pleasure to get to know and train our clients.

What inspires people to train at you facility?

We have a warm and friendly environment with well-educated trainers who live a life of fitness and have accomplished the highest marks in their fields of expertise.

People come here to get motivated and most people have fun while getting a great workout.

Do you have any top trainers and why are they so good?

Each of our trainers has varied backgrounds and expertise in different areas, from a professional Figure Competitions, to pro football experience, Navy training and even kettlebell.

Each has different styles and training techniques. As a combination, they are a great mix.

What special services do you provide?

Along with personal training, we also specialized in youth and sport-specific training. We work with individuals with obesity and diabetes. We have classes such as Yoga, Zumba, and Pilates

Who are your most notable present and past members?

All of our members!

What was the hardest part about operating your gym?

It took some time to get the gym in the condition we wanted it. It is still a work-in-progress, but we love the changes we have made and so do our clients.

What makes you competitive over the other gym chains?

No other gym in the area offers what we do. Rather than walking in the front door and never being acknowledged again, we post a daily workout and we have fitness coaches on the floor to help instruct, spot, motivate and supervise proper form for the entire workout.

It is like getting a trainer at a fraction of the cost!

How have you been able to remain so successful and how do you hope to remain so?

We are fairly new, but we are getting a great reputation through word of mouth and the results our clients see!
