[ Q ] How did the gym start and why did you decide to begin (or work within) the gym business?
dot

As a doctor, I have always been into fitness, health and the well being of myself and others. After owning and operating a successful Chiropractic and Spinal rehabilitation office for 14 years, my wife and I decided to look into all the aspects of owning and managing a health club.

[ Q ] Can you give us a description on what went into opening your awesome establishment?
dot

We started out looking for a good building/location. Next, we began to brainstorm the facility's layout. When I was younger I was into powerlifting and competed at a national level, so I had a pretty good idea of what equipment I wanted to have.

We also went to a couple of fitness conventions to get ideas on machines, software, and products. We looked around the community at other gyms and quickly discovered what it would take to set us apart from them.

We have over 40 group exercise classes a week. Our shower and locker rooms are very clean, spacious, and filled with all the amenities you could ask for.

[ Q ] Who are your most notable present and past members?
dot

Presently we have a member who is extremely overweight with a food obsession. She wrote our local paper asking for people to stop being rude to her while she walked around town trying to lose the weight.

We got into contact with her and got her into our facility with one of our personal trainers (Josh Englehart) who is helping her reach her goals. Even though she has a lot of work ahead of her, the drive she has is amazing!

dot
[ Q ] What was the hardest part about operating your gym?
dot

The hardest part of the gym is trying to fulfill our members requests, which are not always feasible. We try as hard as we can to make everyone happy.

[ Q ] What makes you competitive over the large gym chains?
dot

We are so competitive with the larger gyms because we can make our own rules. We arrange the facility the way we want, we can add the equipment and classes we want. We are adaptable to our members.
