The Power Of Goji: Secret Super-Berry Revealed.

Put your health-food cupboard to shame by adding Goji Berries to the mix. Learn how this cranberry-sized, tomato-related plant outshines all other antioxidant foods to give you massive health benefits!

By: Brenda Kelly

Article Summary:
  • Goji berries contain more vitamin C than any other foods on earth, second to Camu berry.
  • Botanically, these berries are a member of the Solanaceae family of plants.
  • These berries are grown throughout the world, so research your source and read labels.

Everywhere I look goji berries are gaining popularity. They're appearing in drinks, snack foods, baked goods and other recipes in replacement of raisins or dried cranberries. I eat them alone as a snack. The consistency and taste is like dried tomatoes, or raisins with a lemon twist, a touch of sweetness and an herbal type scent.

The goji berry is truly in a league of its own. They contain 18 amino acids, 21 minerals, glyconutrients for cell communication and more beta-carotene than any other food on earth. A polysaccharide found in goji was discovered to be a powerful secretagogue, which is a substance that stimulates the secretion of human growth hormone by the pituitary making them a true anti-aging gift from Mother Nature.

These berries also have more vitamin C than any other food on earth, second only to Camu berry. They are higher in antioxidants than any other known food. Antioxidants help you maintain healthy vision and reduce your risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Amazing Goji Berry Testimonials

These testimonials are outstandingly impressive including a man named Li Ching-Yuen who supposedly lived to be 252 on a diet of mostly goji berries. The master herbalist, born in 1677 in Szechuan, China ascribed his longevity to eating about 2 handfuls of these berries daily along with his ability to balance his life - quietude and exercise; worldliness and spirituality.

Li Ching-Yuen:
Li,Ching-Yuen or Li,Ching-Yun was a Chinese herbalist, martial artist and tactical advisor. He claimed to be born in 1734, while disputed records suggest 1677. Both alleged lifespans of 199 and 256 years far exceed the longest confirmed lifespan of 122 years and 164 days.

Soak buckwheat for 8-12 hours. Change soaking water at least once. Drain all well. Put pine nuts, buckwheat, pumpkin seeds, almonds, and goji berries into a blender or food processor and blend for a few seconds on low. To leave chunky, I divide the mix to blend half at a time.

In a bowl, mix these ingredients with the agave and add a little more water to moisten if needed and add more dried goji Berries.

Mold the mixture into energy bars. Use cookie molds or make balls with your hands or use a fork on a plate to make compact energy bars. Let sit for a while.

Are All Goji Berries Created Equally?
dot

Not all goji berries are equal in nutrients. When purchasing these berries make sure you buy either "wild-crafted" from the pristine regions in Tibet or Mongolia - or make sure they are farmed organically there.

These berries are now grown throughout the world, so research your source and read labels. The unique territory of Tibet (and a small, bordering region in Mongolia), which has the longest history of their use, seem to actually include micro-niche ecological benefits that other places do not have.

You can find these berries in health food stores. These berries are so easy to use; they will not just sit in your cupboard! You will love adding them to your nutrition program.

Chinese medicine has long stated that these berries boost the immune system, increase sexual fluids, fertility, and longevity. Let's get on board with our Asian brothers and sisters and start enjoying the benefits of that very real ancient Chinese secret too!
