Good morning/afternoon/evening/night fellow bodybuilders. Another awesome week has passed and I would like to present to you the Best of the Forums for the week ending August 7th of the year 2005. Please take the time to email me at elespa@mcmaster.ca if you have any requests or would like me to check something out that you have put together. Happy Lifting!
Casein, whey, egg, soy... with so many types of proteins available to buy, which one is best for what time of day? It can get confusing, I know, but it is important to get the right type of protein to maximize muscle recovery.
![]() This week, 'MCWTRAINER' gives us some background into several types of proteins and how/when it is best to take them. The thread can be found here, and with a little reading, you'll know a lot more about protein than you thought possible.
Like we've said in the past, there are certain muscles that can make or break your appearance. Some muscles will make you look a lot bigger, just by training them a bit more. For example, the traps.
This week's best picture thread is devoted to the wonderful traps. The thread, started by 'highintesity' can be found here along with lots of great trap pictures. See how yours compare to those of fellow members.
There are lots of people in this world that just don't know a lot about anything. Well, it's either that, or they are completely ignorant to just about everything around them. In any case, those people have poked their heads into bodybuilding as well. For those of us that know better, we can sit back and laugh.
![]() However, those that are 'the people' don't really know how silly they are. This week's funniest thread is devoted to people who ask stupid questions or say stupid things about anything fitness related. Started by 'sicosico' this thread will be sure to make you laugh.
CEE has STILL been getting lots of spotlight in recent weeks. Its 15 minutes of fame have turned into months of solid reviews. However, when push comes to shove, is CEE really better than creatine monohydrate? Is it all a placebo that has gotten so many people to jump on the CEE band wagon?
To tell you the truth, I don't know, and as of right now, no one is sure. There is this thread though, which shows that not everyone is buying into the hype that so many people have produces. Nevertheless, like it or not, people are seeing better gains on CEE than creatine mono. Is it better? You be the judge.
I'm going to throw a wrench in the machine today. Instead of making this solely a workout log of the week, I'm going to make it a workout log as a result of current M1T dosing. Again, 'MCWTRAINER' makes a great thread, and this time gives us a very detailed log of his M1T supplementation. It's his second cycle and made good gains on his first. Follow his progress here.
With summer in full swing, do you have the cut body you want? Are you looking to drop a few in the next couple weeks? Well, even though it's not healthy to lose lots of weight quickly, you may need to get from 9-10% body fat to 6 or 7%. That, for some people, is only possible with the help of a fat burning aid. Which one is the best? Which company is just offering you a gimmick? Let your fellow bb.com members help you out in the thread started by 'JMP2003' that can be found here. Check it out if you're looking for help choosing a good fat burner.
There are a lot of people that you'll meet on the forums that have done wonders for themselves. The most inspirational ones are the ones that have been in the game for a while and know that it takes lots of time and dedication to get big. Too many people come into bodybuilding thinking that they can put on muscle in a couple weeks.
This week, I chose 'MattT' who started his pre-competition thread here. There is a lot that you can learn from Matt. As you'll see in the thread, there are a lot of people that look up to him and find him an inspiration. Check out the thread and maybe you will too.
So college and university are right around the corner. Teenagers will be leaving their families for the first time and may not see them for several months. However, to bodybuilders, family and homework are the least of their worries. What ever will happen to their diets and exercise? I, for one, got a lot fitter in my first year, although the 'Freshman Fifteen' rumor is not just a rumor.
For some people, first year means loss of muscle and a gain of fatty fat! You better watch out, kids, or the muscle fairy will come and take your hard earned gains away! In all seriousness, just stick to what you've been doing. Check out the thread, started by 'tino824' and you'll see that once you get into the swing of things, it'll all come back together.
