 Why I Got Started
About 2 years ago I had a lot going on in my life and wasn't dealing with it in the proper way, it all caught up to me and my body broke down. I literally had a break down. My brain shut down and I had to re-learn how to read, write and talk. I was in the hospital for about 5 weeks. After I was released it took another year to really get better and back to myself. In the process I gained about 40 pounds from the meds, not eating properly, and being lazy. I was also a heavy smoker and was not taking care of myself. One day while at work a fit woman came in and I got to talk to her. I wanted to know what she did to look like that. She met with me the following week over coffee and told me all about proper nutrition and competitions. From that day forward I decided that I was going to enter a competition. I didn't know how or how long it would take me but I was going to do it and nothing was going to stop me.

I Decided That I Was Going To Enter A Competition.
 How I Did It
I started walking in my area, every morning. I would power walk to my favorite tunes on my iPod and just walk. It was so nice to be outside with the fresh air. I finally felt alive again. I also drastically changed the way I was eating. I eat about 5-or-6 meals a day. I also started going to the gym every morning at 5 a.m. before work. I would ride my bike (as I don't own a car) and work out for about 1.5 hours and then head to work. I was so determined to lose the weight and reach my goal of being competition ready. Setting a goal and achieving it is one of the greatest satisfactions that you can get from life. There is nothing that gets in my way and I am always pushing myself to go the extra mile to achieve my goals. I work and still manage to find the time to haul my butt to the gym every day, rain or shine, blizzard or hurricane. Nothing and no one can stop me. Achieving success is fulfilling for me and I am willing to endure the effort and sacrifice it takes to accomplish my goals. I sleep, eat and breathe fitness every moment of every day. You have to have the determination to achieve your goals because no one is going achieve them for you.

Don't ever give up and don't let anyone hold you back. Don't ever doubt yourself or think you can't do something. When someone tries to hold you back get rid of them and work that much harder.
"Drive is like a furnace, constantly fueling you with everything you need; mentally, physically and spiritually. Drive isn't just an ingredient to success - it's everything."
