The superb physique of 2004 USA overall champion Mark Dugdale will grace the stage at this year's Iron Man Pro show, an event where he predicts he will qualify for his first ever Olympia appearance. Based on his 8th placing and the many commendations he received at his pro debut at this very show in 2005, and the 5th placing he received at last year's event, he has every chance of snaring a top five spot come February 17. Although he will not be the most massive competitor onstage, Mark will certainly be one of the classiest with symmetry and proportions many competitors would give an arm and a leg for. As all top five athletes now automatically qualify for the Olympia, and given the improvements Mark has made over the past year, one could safely say that 2007 will be the year that Mark makes his Olympia debut, a goal he is extremely driven to achieve.
[ A ] I have not felt this good since I won the 2004 USA.
[ A ] To qualify for the Olympia - I'm sick of going every year and watching, I want to be onstage with the best.
[ A ] I don't know and honestly I don't care. I'm looking to continually improve my physique - which is all I can control, so that's where my focus stays.
[ A ] It's in a fantastic venue and it's in California, what else do you need? Actually it rains every year, but being from Seattle - I'm right at home. John Balik puts on a first-class show and Lonnie Teper brings the personality, which makes for a great production. Technically, doing well could carry some momentum into the ASC, but I just take one contest at a time.
[ A ] I changed up quite a bit with my training, which is probably why I've enjoyed such a great off-season. You will have to wait to read about it in FLEX Magazine, though.
[ A ] I ordered all my supplements from Bodybuilding.com - no joke, check my order history.
[ A ] My approach has always been small, incremental changes, so I won't really even know until I see the pics after the show.
[ A ] Hopefully the best physique onstage and certainly the best physique I'm capable of bringing.
[ A ] As I said earlier, I don't worry about the competition. Even if Jay Cutler entered there is nothing I would do differently to prepare for the show.
[ A ] The Arnold Classic and the Olympia.
[ A ] Yes, a big thank you to my wife Christina for weathering the storm of contest prep and for all people who email me their support - I sincerely thank you all.
