Hello Christina. My girlfriend is always reading your issues and she finds that they are great. She is working out now a lot and she says that you are her motivation for working out. She has a much prettier body now. And that is really great. I am very thankful to you for that.

But because she is much prettier now, I think that I am not pretty enough for her. How do you think that a guy should look like physically? Do you know what is the most efficient way to make a man's butt as little (thin) as possible? Excuse me for my English, but I do not speak it very well because I am from Belgium. I would like to thank you again, Christina, because you have made my girlfriend prettier.

You are welcome. Thanks for writing and telling me! I am always very happy to hear that I am of help in any way at all. I am happy for you that you are "reaping the benefits" of your girlfriend's new body, but I am even happier for her that she is seeing such great results!

Not to worry, I am sure you are still pretty enough for her. If you are concerned, and want to also improve yourself, that is wonderful. Now training is something you can both do, and it will dramatically improve both of your lives separately, and together.

Since you are concerned about making your butt smaller, you should concentrate on weight training exercises that target your glutes. Squats, Stiff legged dead lifts, the "Butt Blaster", and walking lunges will all tighten and firm that area for you.

Hi Christina! I am 21 years old and trying very hard to get in shape, however I find that since I am in university it is very challenging since I live with two roommates who constantly eat crap don't work out and drink almost every night. I was wondering what I could do to motivate myself to stay healthy when I have all these distractions and temptations around me? Thanks so much!

That is a great question, I know tons of people that have significant others or roommates that do the exact same thing. I know from experience that there is nothing harder than sticking to eating tuna fish and broccoli, while watching your friends binge on delicious looking pizza.

Just this weekend I went to a get together with several friends where the food of choice was an array of junk, and everyone was having Hypnotic Martinis (which I love). To make it even worse, they kept on "Come on, one drink won't hurt!" But I didn't have anything. If you know you are going to be going home or somewhere there will be temptation, try to eat a healthy meal before you go out or before you get there. If you aren't hungry, it will be less tempting to cheat.

Also, for help resisting temptation at home, I recommend that you picture your favorite fitness model or celebrity in your mind that is in as good a shape as you want to be in.

At my house, I hang pictures of people from magazines who inspire me, and that is the first thing I see in the morning when I wake up, and the last thing I see before I go to bed. If you know that you won't be able to resist, then try to schedule the night that you hang around with the roommates to be your cheat meal. With the exception of your cheat night, if you know they are going to be around eating and drinking, and you can't stand it then leave and go to the gym or to your room.

You won't always be able to leave though when people are eating and drinking things you can't have. In that case you have to just use willpower. The question you have to ask yourself is, "Would I rather eat this, or be in excellent shape?"

I was wondering how I might review my eating habits to see what makes me gain weight and what helps me lose weight. How do you determine the difference?

That is very simple. Keep a journal. Though it may be annoying to write down every little thing you eat, that is the best way to monitor your progress. Do this over a course of several months while you are trying to lose weight, and even when you aren't.

Monitor your weight and body fat %, and even write that in the journal maybe once a week. After you are at a point where you are happy with the way you look, then look back over the last month in the journal. Chances are, the way you ate then got you there.

Look back and find a point where you weren't happy with your body in the journal. Notice the differences as far as what kinds of food you were eating. Then simply avoid the foods that made you gain weight. Once you get the hang of it, the journal will be unnecessary because you will know what helps you achieve your desired body goals, and what doesn't.

I'm a skinny guy. I would like to know how to bulk up my body. I do weight training 3 times a week, Mondays: Legs & Abs. Tuesdays: Shoulders & Back & Lower back. Friday: Biceps and Triceps and Chest. All in 3 sets, 11 Reps all in supersets. Can you help me out?

I am not an expert at bulking up, because that has never been a direct goal for me.

However, I can tell you your first problem right away by looking at what you wrote here. Doing ALL supersets is not a great idea if you are trying to really bulk up! Straight supersets will not bulk you up; it will probably do the exact opposite. In training to put on mass, you need to concentrate on higher weight, and lower reps.

If you are also a naturally skinny guy, you need to concentrate on taking in A LOT of the right kinds of calories and protein to gain mass. You need to be eating several meals throughout the day, because chances are you have a high metabolism.

So to gain, you will literally need to consume more calories a day than you burn. A great thing for you to do would be to take a look at one of the professional IFBB men's diet and exercise routine when they are in their bulking period. While you obviously wouldn't do exactly their diet and routine, you could pick up a few great tips on what to do and what not to do.
