Chris Lockwood, Ph.D., FACN, CSCS

Background

Chris Lockwood, Ph.D., earned his doctorate in Exercise Physiology, is a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition, and a NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. Beginning in August 2019, he will be an Assistant Professor in the School of Exercise & Sports Science at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Belton, Texas) where he will teach Performance Nutrition and conduct experimental research on the efficacy and safety of nutritional and dietary supplement interventions in combination with, or the absence of, exercise.

He has over 100 scientific publications and presentations to his credit, has raised over $3 million in cash donations and contributions toward experimental and applied research, is the recipient of three research awards including Best Original Research by the American College of Nutrition, and is the lead inventor on five patents and two pending applications.

Dr. Lockwood has authored four book chapters and hundreds of consumer and trade articles, edited many hundreds more, has been a featured speaker all over the world, and has formulated and been behind some of the best-selling products and brands in sports nutrition.

Dr. Lockwood also serves as President of the consulting firm, Lockwood LLC, is an Adjunct Science Editor at Bodybuilding.com, and has previously served as senior category director of the Diet, Energy, Food and Beverage category of GNC, editor-in-chief of Muscle & Fitness and M&F Hers magazines, senior brand manager of American Body Building (ABB) and Science Foods, and as chief scientific officer of 4Life Research. His clients have included Auburn University, Nutrabolt (Cellucor), Scivation, Biotest, iSatori, Eurpac Service Inc., Muscle Foods USA, Glanbia Nutritionals, Informa, BioNutritional Research Group, Apax Partners, and many others. He has also developed nutrition plans and customized supplement formulations for clients such as actor Matthew McConaughey and singer Ciara Harris, just to name a few.
