Dr. Brandy Segura

Background

Dr. Brandy Segura is an NPC bikini competitor, NPC judge, former physician, personal trainer, fitness writer, and mother of two. She holds a Bachelor's of Science in Neuroscience degree from the UCLA School of Medicine and an Associate of Arts in Chemistry from Fullerton Community College.

In 2009, she left residency training to have her second child and quickly found herself overweight at 175 pounds. She felt as if she lacked a sense of purpose. Brandy's switch from physician and scientist to fitness enthusiast happened the day she discovered bodybuilding competitions. With an optimistic "If they can do that, so can I!" attitude, she decided to take charge of her body and her lifestyle. She set a goal to compete in the bikini division and, with renewed purpose, she never looked back.

Brandy realized that there was a public misconception about proper nutrition and effective training. Utilizing her medical and research experience, she was able to sift through an overwhelming amount of training and supplement information to find the hidden gems. She used this information to get into the best shape of her life and earn second place at her first competition.

Now that she's transformed her body and changed her lifestyle, Brandy is on a quest to educate, inspire, and motivate others to embark on their own pursuit of a healthy and fit lifestyle. She holds the belief that it's never too late to be whom and what you want to be.
