You might call Jake Sawyer the new face on BodySpace. And about now you will have been seeing him as a new face in a lot of places such as playing a wrestler in a Tylenol commercial during the broadcasts of the Summer Olympics, a commercial for Harley Davidson, guest appearances on the Comedy Central show with Lewis Black, "Little Britain" on HBO, "Work Out" on Bravo, and a bunch of magazine print ads for everything from photo labs to travel.
Now it is not like Jake has been working on being an actor for the last 10 years, this has pretty much all happened in the last 10 months or less! That is a lot of success for a 30 year old from Maine who wrestled for the University of Nebraska.

He managed to stop off in Iraq courtesy of the U.S. Army National Guard and got himself blown out of a truck by an IED (one of those now famous 'improvised explosive devices'). Surgeries and recoveries later, Jake went on to get a degree in Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition and he also got his certification as a personal trainer.

For the last 6 years or so he has been working as a strength and conditioning coach, a fitness instructor at a country club and finally as an independent personal trainer. Of course as he trains people he is often out the door to Los Angeles from his home in Palm Springs, very much in demand, for auditions for commercials, catalog shoots and even once as a finalist for American Gladiator. And he also just did his first bodybuilding show this year at Muscle Beach Venice on Memorial Day!

Jake discovered BodySpace on Bodybuilding.com somewhat recently and has been increasing the time spent with it as he talks with other people interested like him in health and fitness. He says BodySpace fits his goal of wanting to "Be Someone's Inspiration". That strikes me as a long lasting goal that could be a good one for all of us.
So let's keep an eye out for Jake, you will be seeing him a lot. And stop by his BodySpace profile on BodyBuilding.com. His member name is "JakeWSawyer", look him up and tell him you saw him right here in Iron Man Magazine.
