[ Q ] You have made an incredible change in your physique since May of 2007. What was the turning point that made you take action with changing your body?
dot

At first, I wanted to win the love back from the person who had dumped me. Eventually, I did win the person back, but the relationship wasn't what I had imagined. Now, I exercise because I want to gain more self-confidence and feel secure about myself.

I found an ad in Men's Fitness magazine.

dot
[ Q ] What do you do for a living? How have your co-workers reacted to the new you?

[ Q ] Is there anything related to fitness you know now, where you had a misconception prior to starting on your transformation?
dot

Yes, I thought those people that are in great physical shape are all born under the right star and I was meant to be fat. I also thought that in order to stay fit, I must not eat. Also, I thought I must maintain a specific number on a scale to look good.

dot
[ Q ] What is the most important thing about fitness you have learned so far?
dot

I've learned that in order to stay fit, and healthy I must choose the right foods to fuel my body, and I must workout consistently.

[ Q ] What is the most challenging thing for you when it comes to working out?
dot

The most challenging thing when it comes to working out for me is, I expect results to show up immediately within a week, and if I don't see results, I don't feel like working out. My workout is basic, nothing fancy or special, but when I squat, I tend to remove my headphones to concentrate because I want to ensure my form is correct.

dot
[ Q ] If you listen to music while you work out, what do you listen to?
dot

I listen to R&B and Nu Metal during my weight training session. I also listen to motivational speakers ( Anthony Robbins and Jim Rohn) when I don't feel like I am in the mood for training. I listen to Trance and Techno when I am doing cardio.

[ Q ] Are you single, married or dating? How has becoming fit affected this area of your life?
dot

I am dating at the moment. Fitness makes this possible, because I don't think I can attract a fit person in my life if I have a belly hanging out in front of me, and fat all over my face.

dot
[ Q ] What would you do if you won a billion dollars in the lottery?
dot

I would attend seminars to learn ways to have money work for me instead of me working for money. I would make a lot of investments to generate revenue. On my free time, I would like to travel around the world, to learn different cultures and meet different people.

dot
[ Q ] Do a lot of people (friends, family, co-workers) attempt to push you into eating cr@p during your typical week?
dot

"Push" is a strong word, but I do get junk foods offered from friends, family and co-workers almost daily.

dot
[ Q ] Was the there any point since you starting working out in May of 2007 that you felt like giving up and going back to your old ways?
dot

No, I've devoted a lot of time, and energy to be where I am, and I would hate to see myself wasting all that time. However, I do complain almost daily about working out.

dot
[ Q ] What do you think you'll be doing in 20 years?
dot

It would be nice to be certified to train and motivate others to get in shape.

dot
[ Q ] What advice would you give someone who is just starting out on a fitness journey?
dot

I've been following a simple philosophy I picked up from Anthony Robbins' seminar, and that is to give myself an hour every morning to exercise and to sweat. We cannot give something we don't have, and we cannot take care of others if we don't first take care of ourselves.

dot
[ Q ] Thank you Quang! Keep up the amazing work. Many people will be inspired by your success and determination to work hard and stay fit.
