Iron Man Magazine's
BodySpace Physique Of The Month: KenStar
His best friend was a barstool and the only six pack for him was beer. But that has changed for Ken "KenStar" Williams because of a trip to the hospital and the gym across the street from his apartment.
Ken started drinking in high school. And over the years, beer and vodka became central to his free time, his social life, and filled his hours away from work. For so very many like this 39 year old, it actually was never a problem until a fateful day 3 years ago when he woke up vomiting blood. That event and the subsequent three days in the hospital, Ken says "scared the hell out of me". The doctors told him that he had to change his life away from the 12 beers a day and hard booze or very simply die young.
Wondering what to do with his time and not having any other outlet but drinking, Ken realized that right across the street from where he lived was a gym. So he picked himself up, went over there and joined, and proceeded to change his life! The better alternative in so very many ways, Ken devoted himself to learning and lifting. He learned lifting from talking with other members and devouring all of the magazines including Iron Man! It was not an easy recovery from drinking in the beginning but the exercise and consistency made the difference and kept him on track.
Working out in the gym really was the "KenStar" underneath it all. In high school he excelled in football and baseball and he had always envied and imagined himself having a gym built body. Now pursuing that gym built body, Ken also discovered BodyBuilding.com having seen a t-shirt someone was wearing. And discovering BodyBuilding.com was a quick step for him to discover and become a member of BodySpace, the online community of like minded people interested in heath and fitness. Now he shares advice, inspiration and motivation from other BodySpace members; and as well, really enjoys all of the information and workout videos on BodyBuilding.com.

Ken's change in life has given him something else besides his health. He says it has given him a "future that is bright". He can now plan 10 years ahead and think of himself owning a company like the one he works for now, and he fondly relates that he can see himself finding the right woman to be his "soul mate" in life. I have a lot of admiration for Ken and I hope you do too. Go visit him on Bodyspace, he is "KenStar" or go directly to Bodyspace.com/KenStar. Tell him you saw him here in Iron Man Magazine and now he is the inspiration for many of us!
