Iron Man Magazine's
BodySpace Physique Of The Month: KathyFit
Do you ever wonder what motivates people to put on a little tiny bikini, stand on a stage to be judged and to be seen by thousands of people? For BodySpace member "KathyFit", Kathy Fehringer-Everton, it is one of the things that motivates her to stay in shape. This 39 year old mom started competing in 1999, bitten by the bug to be on stage from watching fitness competitions on ESPN Cable Television. Now 30 shows later and more than a few trophies, it is also a "performance outlet" for her previous experiences in dance, gymnastics and cheerleading. Also Kathy says it is fun.. "like a big slumber party" for the girls who have been doing it for so long and have become friends. And all that despite sometimes the less than glamorous stays in routine and simple hotel rooms to go with it.
Kathy has always stayed fit and active, part of a prescription for her well being when she was first diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. In college she was asked to teach aerobics and has been working in gyms ever since as a part time fun job alongside her long time career as a dental assistant. Whether training people in the gym or working beside the dental chair, Kathy greatly loves the opportunity to "help people make better choices" in their lives. And at a show a few years ago Kathy discovered Bodybuilding.com and then BodySpace, the online Bodybuilding.com community of people like her interested in a lifestyle of health and fitness. So it was destined for Kathy to become "KathyFit" online.

Whether At The Gym Or In The Dental Chair,
Kathy Loves Helping People Make Better Choices.
Aside from buying supplements from Bodybuilding.com, and she laughingly says her amateur bodybuilder husband buys a lot, so they appreciate the great prices, Kathy found the BodySpace community to be a great resource for another reason. Having written in her profile that she suffers from Gastroparesis, which is an unusual digestive disease, she started getting messages from other BodySpace members who suffer from the same problem. They became their own support group sharing ideas and experience and learning about their disease and symptoms. That really shows the truth in the BodySpace idea of "Strength in Numbers"!
'Kathy says she is going to keep doing shows and hopes to be opening her own training gym in her hometown of Pocatello, Idaho. So go visit Kathy on BodySpace, it is easy to do. Just go to BodySpace.com and look for "KathyFit" and while you are there, start your own BodySpace profile too. As it says "Strength in Numbers" so be a part of it. And as Kathy says... "No need to stop doing the fun stuff as you get older!" Agreed on that one for sure!
