Why I decided to transform

I started putting on weight in third grade due to a horrible diet and minimal exercise. I played sports at the time, but my body didn't allow me to thrive because of my shape. I was made fun for being big and it hurt my self-esteem and made me feel awful.

In seventh grade, I entertained thoughts about changing for the better because of health problems that run in my family. I was tired of being known as the fat kid, so I turned to weight training to better my life and become physically fit.

I looked at people who were fit and built and knew I wanted to look like them. With lots of hard work and dedication, I made my dreams come true and became the person I dreamed of.

How I accomplished my goals

I changed my life with the support of the family and friends. The fact that people doubted my transformation made me want it more. There were many times in the beginning, and since, when I felt like stopping and there was no hope. It was depressing to go through stretches with no change, but I always remembered the end result.

I drew inspiration from people in my family who were supportive and from admirable physiques like John Cena, Phil Heath, and Kai Greene. Through years of training and dedication, I underwent the successful transformation I always dreamed of. I trained hard, ate right, and researched supplementation to create a combination to reach my goals.

Training regimen that kept me on track

I trained six days per week with 40 minutes of cardio at the end of every workout. I love to lift as heavy as possible in a high rep range because it burns fat and builds muscle simultaneously.

What aspect challenged me the most

The most challenging part of my transformation was the diet. I didn't eat much when I started to lose weight, but discovered I wouldn't build muscle that way, so I carefully increased my food intake. I kept my cheat days to a minimum so I would stick with my diet and see results.

My future fitness plans

I competed in my first bodybuilding show this summer and plan to do more in the future. I want to be a personal trainer and help others reach their goals. I think it would be very rewarding.

Suggestions for aspiring transformers

Be patient and consistent. Focus primarily on your diet and the training and supplementation will follow. Be patient because progress can be discouraging, but it's worth it in the end. Eat clean and lift hard!
