Body Transformation: Drew Marcum Hit Big Marks!

Drew became an apprentice to a fellow teen bodybuilder and harvested inspiration to get huge. See how his well-executed plan effectively replaced fat with muscle!

Why I decided to transform

When I was younger, I wasn't a great athlete because I was weak and out of shape.

My friends realized it and decided to "get me huge" by introducing me to the gym.

One of my friends is a competing bodybuilder and just won the teen division at the Lakewood, Ohio, competition.

Seeing his physique was a big motivation for me.

How I accomplished my goals

I accomplished my goals through trial and error. At first, I was under the impression that working out meant I needed to eat a lot, so I gained fat on top of the muscle I built.

At that point, I tried a no carb diet that made me feel miserable. I discovered that training properly and limiting carbs and unhealthy fats would help me reach my goals without losing energy.

What aspect challenged me the most

The most challenging part of my transformation was the nutrition. I like to eat and cutting out all the simple carbs and sugars was hard. Throughout my journey, I developed a taste for healthy food. It got to the point where I feel sick if I don't eat clean.

My future fitness plans

I've already signed paperwork for the U.S. Army. After that I plan to focus my career on fitness.
